I think its a General Consensus that Ortofon e-Q7 is not suited for Fast Energetic music so i am not that enthu abt it.

I read that UM3X is top of the line universal (is it?), is better than IE8 and it enters the realm of customs in SQ.
See i travel a lot and need good isolation and I don't think customs offer much isolation (compared to say UM3X) coz they don't even have a rubber/foam tip! Comments?

UM3X has 3BAs with 3way cross overs, good.
but Miracle/ and other high end ones have 6+ drivers -that does not mean more quantity bass, nor more speckling treble, no.
it means more freedom to the creater (in this case the UM ) to control the frequency response. add to that incredible speed + detailing.
more drivers also mean better soundstage when used in such manner. why do you think JH13 is better than JH10X3

But as has been already stated elsewhere, JH16 is NOT better than JH13. So i cannot comment on betterness of JH13 over JH10x3.

why do dubber-foam universals offer isolation - due to the fact that they rubber foam, do not have the shape of their own they can take the form of you ear and provide isolation.
now in case of customs the glass/plastic is already in the shape of the insides of ear( you send your ear impression to the companies, which makes the customs according to your ear shape. now the rest of the fit is done by your ear skin thats also flexible and has some moisture, thus in the case of customs glass/plastic is better than using rubber foam because the skin seals off sound better when paired with glass/plastic compared to rubber/foam. they are sealed in!
remember a vacuum hold requires a plain surface ( nothing dramatic in customs though)

JH16 has two extra bass drivers extra thats all all else is the same , thath why the price is not much higher (just 50 more)
