@dragonball please provide link where they're selling for 300$ One of my friend will buy it today, seriously!!

The price does not make a hp better than the other, and quite frankly reviews also don't. Unless you've tried a pair you don't know which is better for the specific type of music.

yeah, that is true, sound has to be awesome, i am just saying that if we could impress girls too while simultaneously following our expensive hobby, it would have been great, like a fake diamond studded platinum bodied IEM maybe !! :)

Ortofon eq7 : Lacks a bass punch, excellent mids, very engaging mids, very forward, good soundstage, lacks a bass punch, no sub bass, no texture in the bass, did I mention excellent mids

Considering that e-Q5 is similar to e-Q7, these have enough bass for me. I usually get a good fit with the medium size flanges, but with Ortos, I am using larger flanges. Yet to A/B them against anything. The treble is just enough. But, the mids :lick:

^ Not e-Q5 alone :ashamed:

Oh! and Benny is right about e-Q7 not working with EDM. But it works with my music mostly. So I have no issues!

Wait till next week to know why I mentioned that I won't buy another IEM for the next six months :(

Hmm, just taking a very rough spending estimate on your IEMs.

- DBA 002 - $100

- FX 700 - $250

- UE TF10 - $130 (Including shipping and duties)

- Ortofon Q5 - $300

- RE252 - $130

- Phonak - $100

- Panasonic - $100

- RE0 - $70

- Xears TD100 I , TD 100 II - $120

- Other IEMS - $100

Total (approx) - $1300 !!! :O

And this is not taking into account your earbuds like the Sennheiser MX760, Final Design Audio FA etc.

You got a few things wrong there with respect to prices. It's far above that...

DBA-02 is $160

Post Duties and Shipping -

TF10 is $150
Pana is $115

But Xears are cheaper. I got 5 of them at $150 total or something like that. Thomas' prices on the web site, eBay are like stock market prices. You buy when they go low and get them together to save on shipping. I gotta sell / gift away many of the "others" next year or sooner. I can provide only so much space :ashamed:

And still.... wait till next week :P

I do plan to sell off some of my top-tier IEMs next year. You'll have preference ;)

My original plan was to keep upgrading my speaker setup. If I had done that, I might have needed 5 times as much and still would have only one system which depends on the unreliable power to work. Other than that, I'd have needed to spend as much as I've spent on all IEMs for properly setting up the space. This is actually pleasure for "cheap" relatively speaking :)

Slightly OT but esanthosh, you really really need to get try the Grados. Especially the range above Sr225i. If you like the eq7/eq5, you will love these. These have similar qualities as the Ortofon, its just that i wouldn't go for the ortofon because those +ve qualities are best expressed in a headphone rather than an Iem. Keeping portability, comfort and isolation aside of course. ;)

Could you compare the Fx700 with the TF10's please with respect to EDM music if possible :)

WHY the heck not ....they sound better then why not? :@

then buy the HE6 + burson HA160 ( perfect treble for you )

I know that customs are an upgrade (moving from 9.5-10.0 on SQ from universals to 10.5-10.75 on a 10 scale ;)). But e-Q5 + FX700 + DBA-02 is still less than the price of JH13 (or Miracle) and I get only one signature instead of three, even though it's a very good signature :P.

I do have Alessandro MS1i, but none of the higher end Grados. I know that (speakers >) headphones > IEMs in terms of impact, but as of now, I prefer lot of portability and mobility. When I come around to a headphone setup, I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

I don't listen to EDM. What I have is a few select samples in Trance mentioned by Faheem sometime ago. I just ran a few of them through Cowon S9 -> Custom EQ (all bands flat, all effects off except BBE at 10). TF10's bass is quick and had good impact. FX700 has huge quantity in comparison (nauseating levels :P) and has a relatively slower decay resulting in much more of the bass note. I'd say between the two - FX700 has "bass-head bass" and TF10 a "cleaner bass". They both are tighter, punchier, extended and impact-ful, just in different ways.

YOU ALREADY HAVE THE FX700,
imean they reached you sooooo fast ...man shipping concerned with you is quick :P
Yes! I got both e-Q5 and FX700 in the same shipment within five days from Musica Acoustics ;). I am still waiting for one more ordered long, long ago - that's what next week (hopefully) is about :P
