Toshiba Announces 100GB 1.8-inch drive; 100GB iPod on the Way?

Toshiba announced it will ship a 100GB 1.8-inch hard disk next month, the largest yet of this size. The little drive spins at 4200rpm and happens to be exactly the right size to fit into an Apple iPod.

Although Toshiba was careful not to mention anything about its relationship with Apple and how its 1.8-inch disks occupy the interiors of Apple's 80GB iPods, this is some pretty solid evidence that we'll be seeing a 100GB iPod soon, perhaps around the same time we see the new iPhone.

bah! me waiting for a 100gb phone to come out.... phone + ipod = too many devices... but phone including ipod is teh way to go

yeah, read this 100gig hdd news elsewhere.. i think a 100gb DAP will _just_ about fit my needs

Yea same here, waiting for a phone with a built in hdd, or even better a hdd slot where u can add ur own. Major problem apart from fear of dropping the phone will be getting the hdd's. 1.8 inchers wont come cheap
