TVS APACHE...Its Now or Never

hmm definitely apache looks nice and cool and it's price is also quite decent...but i think pulsar 180 cc black is more cool and awesome. :P

any ideas regd mileage....let me know.

75 is impossible!!! The bike is Awesome. It beats the Pulsar. No doubt abt that. but it's mileage CANNOT be that high :P

But TVS has PATHETIC timing..... really really sad timing. They released the Fiero F2 just when the DTSi was abt to be launched. The F2 was a decent bike compared to non-DTSi. But within a few months when DTSi was launched, the F2 was thrashed totally....

Same thing COULD happen here...... The Pulsar is overdue for an upgrade. the last major upgrade was in 2003 when they introduced DTSi. So, they could release an all new 150 cc competitor... you never know :P

and this
surely a Bike to impress the Girls
I disagree :P Girls are rarely impressed by bikes. What difference do they know between a Pulsar 150/180?? One of my friends itself doesnt know what cc is.... :P

Mileage of the Apache is around 55.I especially like the Engine sound, more manly than the Pulsar (and of course the Unicorn, which makes the sounds of a scooterette rather than a bike).

I was extremely disappointed by the Uni.....

Build quality fit for a Royal Enfield(exaggerated of course :P ), but still..... a bike not worthy of the Honda name.

all mags who have tested the Uni over a long time complain of fit and finish problems. They say that after a time, engine oil can be seen ON the externals of the engine. And the fairings start rattling. And apart from that monoshock, there is nothing extra special abt the Uni.

That reflects in it's sales...... it is selling well, but it is not the phenomenon people expected when honda announced that they are building a 150cc bike for India.

I know many people who put off their bike purchases when they heard HONDA are releasing a new bike. But they then went for a P150 once they saw the Uni.

And till yesterday, I would have said that the Uni wins over the Pulsar in it's gear shift quality. Not anymore :P I drove a friend's 150DTSi(the new one with Alloys and Exhaustec and Nitrogen filled shocks) and I was SHOCKED at the shift quality.

It was BRILLIANT!!! As good is not better than the Uni. I felt it was better probably coz the engine had the revs and grunt to make the shifts more exciting :P ...

I have been riding my 180DTSi for a loooong time. But mine is the old one without Gas shocks and Alloys.... But the shioft quality on the new DTSi was Awesome!!! It was soooo slick..... I still cant get over it.

This Pulsar was released after the Discover. And I guess Bajaj tried some new things on the Disco and then they pushed it int othe Pulsar with a few modifications.... But boy.... the shift quality is Awesome!!!

The May edition of Autocar India carries an Apache cd...which has the wallpapers etc n videos including a stunt vid...but sadly my cd gets stuck when i try to play the vids!!

yeah...but Yamaha have been showing a Fuel Injected Fazer for 2 Auto Expos now..... I am not going to hold my breath for them

yamaha has been screwed up since they stopped making good ol bikes like RX100/135/RXZ .. all the other bikes they have are total losers.

Hope they get their brains right this time. Fazer also had nothing good in it. lets see what fazer 250cc has to offer.

btw i think the 250cc pulsar will be a definite winner in its class .. no other bike will come close to it .. looking at its specs n stuff.

Hello!!! Where were you?? How can you make such a statement?? Any facts to back up your accusation??

Have you ridden a Fazer??

It is BRILLIANT!! Almost as good as the Discover. If only they replaced that front headlight with something else, the Fazer would be THE best 125cc bike.

It is so smooth and comfortable. More than enough power also. The gearshift quality is really awesome. And the disc brake is Awesome!! The only thing wrong with the Fazer is the front fairing.

The Fazer is a brilliant bike. It is only slightly slower than the Discover. But it give yoiu the feeling of riding a much bigger bike.....

Dude.... dont just mnake acusations like that :P

^^ya u can compare fazer with discover and its likes maybe .. i was meaning the perfomance section of yamaha bikes .... and i again say that none of these new yamaha bikes have that charm/perfomance of the old RX series.

my post was not intended for the mainstream/value section.

^^ I tend to agree with Mohit.

After the RX*** series, Yamaha hasn;t really made anything special in India.

Fazer 250cc would be great only if Yamaha put some of their racetrack technology into it..

^^eggjactly. this is what i meant ..i have yamaha bikes such as RX100 / RX135 / RX135 5 Speed.

my RX100 is around 15 years old ... and it still kicks some serious ass. trust me this is the real "College n youth" bike.

After using all these bikes and loving them .. i dont find any DAMN bike good in India. be it any company or any brand.

and i am really really disappointed with yamaha. they have made POS bikes like EL Cheapo Stripped down Eliminator aka "Enticer" , YBX , Crux (this only really sux).

I did not find anything special in the FAZER also. and i am just hoping they bring some nice powerful machine out.

Well, I think I understand your thinking now :P ...

Dont compare any bikes with RXs.... They were one of a kind....

It is stupid if you compare it that way.... live in the present. 2 strokes are dead.

And however much people loved the RXs, the mileage was not all that good and from a business point of view, the RXs did not make any sense. They had an awesome reputation but not making any profits at all for YAm....

Why would they stick to a loss making bike??

They tried to bring in modern bikes but did not do too well as they dont really know how to make such small bikes...

As the India bike market matures and we get bigger and bigger bikes, expect Yamaha to be back with a bang!!

2 strokes are far from being dead. i know a few RD350s that pollute lesser than pulsars.

Take for example Vignesh's RX135. It puts out approx 25BHP, still gives him 35KMPL. what more could you ask? Mine currently gives <20KMPL. Special care lol...

They are exceptions dude!!!

And the main thing abt 2 strokes are mileage. Today people want decent mileage...There are a small number who dont care so much abt mileage. But the majority of people want mileage.

Why do you think 100ccs and 110cc bikes sell so well ? :P

2 stroke technology has improved. somewhy manufacturers dont want to shift to 2 strokes.

almost 25BHP RX doing 35KMPL. aquila at 26?? giving...20 odd? lol

Hummm BTW whats the use of wheelies and stoppies? all i see are ruined suspensions. I dont see why guys shud get impressed when they see wheelies n stoppies.

Fazer is a really good bike. The headlight spoiled it all me thinks.

@anish : air as well as sound.

EXACTLY!!! It is a brillint bike!!! Makes me believe that if Yamaha start making serious bikes, then it would be superb!!!

leave alone yamaha making bikes...even if they give us the all-ready bikes we would be gratefull...but Yamaha India plans a loooong road..
frm what i heard ARAI is imposing constraints to reduce the ps of the yet-to-release fazer 250...........
