i have a 2002 model palio 1.2 which requires tyre replacement- i intend 2 go for std OEM tube 165 80 R 13 tyres-i have seen the internet where only MRF and Bridgestone have these sizes-any other better manufacturer

Either Bridgestone or Michelin should be fine, stick to stock size

If your rims are fine and not rusted you can switch to tubeless tyres too

Hi bro my brother too has 2002 1.2 palio elx.
For 13 inch rim stick with 165/80/R13 only. Do not listen to any dealers. BTW it tough to get one. these are made as per orders & only BS has them in mumbai market atleast.

If you can upgrade Go for 14 inch 98 PCD alloys only [rims could be heavy] with 185/65/R14 tyres from Yokohama/michelin.....

Its better you source original alloys I personally prefer the Flower type alloys of GTX but tough to source & fiat charges 10k per alloy.

Contact kava motors in mumbai for any Fiat parts. They are exclusive fiat spare dealers. last year when I contacted them they were charging 3k per adventure alloys which can fit in our palio.

For 3rd party alloys sai mag wheels best options

If you are from mumbai visit kurla market to get second hand parts or scraped parts there is one Amber motors shop who use to charge 1800 per alloy which are scraped by fiat as he mentions.

Hope this helps...

Better upgrade to 14" rims and then buy 185/70/14R

correct upgrade is 185/ 65/ R 14

It is correct indeed, but such a low profile will have a bad effect on the suspension. They will wear faster and the comfort level may also decrease.

Many 1.2's are running on these comfort is compromised a bit but handling is gr8.
Next best option is 185/70 R13.

R13 and profile 70 would be too much overkill to the engine,it will decrease the acceleration and mileage both considerably. Will increase the comfort though.
