It's a shitty job I've heard. And it doesn't add any skills to increase your future job prospects. But so does the testing in IT sector, at least here you're testing out new games.

psyph3r Are you a Ubisoft employee or representative or just putting the word out here? I have friend who is looking for a job and he is a gaming freak, he might be interested.

blkrb0t howcome, will it not add any type of experience to our CV that can help to increase future job prospects.
And psyph3r same Question from me also??

So does game testing/development actually happen at this center? Are you talking about the one at Kalyani Nagar? My Office is just opposite this and I see guys in Ubisoft tees daily at the local tapri.

Both employee and putting a word out there.
It's a stepping stone if you want to join the gaming industry. We have had a lot of testers move into production as programmers and game designers so it won't add skills if you want to make a career out of outsourced IT jobs.

Yes on both counts

Exp will add on CV but will work only in gaming industry.....and gaming industry in India is very small and lots of lay off happens, recently being Gameloft Hyderabad and 1 more point small gaming companies are there but in small towns like Indore, Surat, Ahmadabad etc so while changing you have to relocate.

Shifting from gaming industry to application domain is very difficult. I started my career in mobile games testing and after 2 years of hard search I got a chance in app testing.
Last year I had helped 1 of Ubisoft Tester who is friend of friend to shift career in application testing. Had to do lots of internal setting to get him the job.

To conclude you will enjoy the culture, games and consoles but career wise you have to think before you jump.

@irfanlai Thanks mate...

You can try being a game developer rather than a tester. I don't know why many B.Tech/B.E graduates go into this field, there are better jobs for them.

psyph3r How easy is it to move from a tester to developer, or any other branch for that matter? Were you in the same field, or do you still work as a tester? What will the job responsibilities be like?

OT:
Correct me if I'm wrong but testing and QA jobs in the I.T. industry pay well and are in good demand. Plus, not many people go into it so it's kind of easy to get into and has good future prospects.

Are there any particular requirements for this job. I mean qualificatons/exp whatever. I'm a Software developer with three years of experience and a noob in gaming.
So please update the post with the requirements too which will help someone who is eligible and interested.

@blkrbot , i am also BE final year student,just one Sem left to give :D

Wanna go into web developing field (particularly CMS and mvc framework) , any suggestion for my career please :unsure:

@Being.smart
If you can work hard enough, JAVA will be good and is evergreen. Else you can set your preferences like .NET/Drupal/Joomla etc. But all these depends on the opportunities too.

Sire, my Java programming is good, but not at top notch level like pros, not much emphasis is being laid in my college on coding, we use to code only chindia programs :(

Should i join some coaching to strengthen it ?

@Being.smart
Dude, even i'm a B.Tech graduate and had no skills at the time of relieving from the college. After joining my company, they trained me. So no need to worry about that. Basic knowledge is enough to start your career. If you are much interested you can join some coaching programs too to strengthen your skill.

By the way what i suggest not to look after salary in the beginning of your career. Experience counts first. Salary next. If you are having good amount of opportunities, you can count on salary. But there are being a lot of computer grads being relieved every year into the market. So, you can demand if you have experience.

They pay well and I can assure you that. Companies like Microsoft pay 16L per annum for a beginner tester.

My argument was the growth and development opportunities you will have in the future. If you like being at the crux of it all and do your own development, QA and testing won't help much. They'll add to your experience, but not much to your learning.

I'm a B.E. Mechanical graduate, who also has a great interest in Computers. I don't know much about programming, but I understand binary logic and can devise algorithms to solve a problem. I was offered a job as an assistant software engineer in IBM and a similar position in TCS, but I didn't choose them. Right now I'm still undecided as to where I want to work, I'm just doing freelance as a writer for a tech blog.
