Placed an order for the following:

AMD PhenomII X4 955BE - 6.25K
Seagate 250GB SATA - 1.5K
CM Elite 334 - 2.1K
Corsair DDR3 2GB 1333FSB ValueSelect x 2 - 2.45K

The proposed rig with the intended configuration is estimated to draw 365 Watts Max.

Still undecided on the mobo. Looking at different options now.
Why 250GB HDD when you can get a 500GB single platter one for Rs.200 more (1.7k) :S

Is there any specific reason you want 2x250GB HDD instead of a single 500GB HDD? If you are looking for reliability or backup or possibly RAID modes then it's fine but otherwise you could have sold the existing 250GB for around 800-1000 and got a single 500GB or even a 1TB based on how much you get for the current HDD. There would even be some minute savings in the power bill.

If you are looking for reliability or backup or possibly
Spot on!

Still undecided on the motherboard. Looking at different options now.

Some help here, guys? :)

Options listed on the following sites are all the options I have:

IT Depot
Sethia Infotech
Delta Peripherals

2. Motherboard - Mobo with USB3.0, decent OB-GFX, single PCI-E 2.X slot, well laid out, nothing too fancy (MSI, Gigabyte are most preferred, but open to other good brands)

Budget < 6K

Thanks!

Hmm good.
Shoots your budget a little but the only other decent option left is Asrock 890GX Extreme3 @ 7.2k.

It's a great performing board, and chocked full of features for only 7.2k. Worth every penny. Read some reviews and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Although that's overshoots by budget, you're forgetting one little thing...availability.

To start with, the good USB 3.0, 880 Chipset based boards start at 7.X K in Chennai. 890 based boards start at 11K. :p

Go for the Gigabyte GA 880GMA UD2H best bet for your price range

This is a good option. Only one problem ^

:O Well, trust me, you've no good option left other than opting for ASUS.
Asus M4A88T M/USB3 @ 5.7k as suggested by DA. Decent board.

I bought GA 880GM UD2H with Athlon X4 640. Board is performing quite well. I wasnt looking for USB 3. So GM was good option for me.

Well, I will be keeping the rig for a while, so USB 3 would be preferred.

Asus M4A88T M/USB3 - 5.7k @ delta ie., if Asus is an option

Edit: May reconsider. Looking at all possible options in depth.

This option is looming in mind.

Extremely overpriced. It has SB 710 and costs 7.2k. Is buying online no option at all? If Gigabyte then the GA-880GA-UD3H - 5.5k is a super option from SMC.

Its better to go for Asus IMO if these Giga boards are priced so high in Chennai.

Same board costs 6.3k in Delta.

Well, there aren't many sites that accept CC/DBs as payment options, only Bank transfers/Deposits etc...That's my problem. :(

I did read a couple of reviews of the ASUS board and they weren't positive.

SMC has a ebay store. So you can ask him to list there and buy using CC/DB. But cost will be 6% or so higher due to ebay charges. If you have a 5% coupon the difference wont be much :)

Buy this board "ASUS M4A87TD EVO"... its has 6xSata6GBPS ports, 2xUSB3 Ports and its a full ATX board... TheITWares is selling it for Rs.6150... Do call itwares to check the availability...

@TheToxicMind if u want 5% coupon i can give u...

And also do consider Gigabyte GA-880GA-UD3H as suggested by reddy... its a killer board... has Sata3,USB3 and vertical aligned sata ports... And one more thing its a full ATX board wid great layout... Call SMC to check the availability... Posting an image of that board for ur reference... :p

OK, in my final effort, I managed to find this board. The site also accepts CC/DBs. What do you guys think?

1. I don't need plenty of SATA6 ports

2. One PCI-E slot will do

3. 2 USB 3.0 ports will do

SMC has a ebay store.

Sorry again, Ebay is definitely not an option.
