Get a generic psu, get 2gb ram instead of 4, invest those 2k in a better monitor/ gpu..No use going for so much ram or a branded psu when you're never going to utilise it..

U left me confused:S

Everyone was saying to get a better PSU so as to support Your hardware now U say to get a normal one:huh:

EDIT: Also regarding Dell...Can I get the model directly @ Lamington Road or have to order through Dell / someone else:S

I would say go for atleast CM460W...no iball or intex etc...get bijli cabby..

Regarding the rig i would say both AMD&intel rig suggested are good..its upto to you to decide although intel performs better at stock speeds than AMD..i say this since you won't be overclocking..but a tricore would be better than dual core when applications are developled to utilise them...

The rest i would say go to lammy just to enquire the rates&if you want post it here just in case if you want to verify...

U wudn't say that unless one day this generic PSU smokes ur rig. :cool2:

Peeps who've had this experience would vouch for this!

@OP: Get a CM460W. Should be sufficient for the rig u're willing to invest in.

Rahul @ The IT Wares stocks Dell LCDs as evident from his site. Drop him a PM and find out. :)

I've seen more corsairs and other hyped PSU's going down than the generic ones..Search on TE itself..:rofl:
Unless you're getting a graphics card, you really wont need more than a generic psu..

Also, most stuff has 3-5yrs warranty.

He might be getting a graphics later, so generic is out of the question. oh and i have seen many generic ones getting screwed and few cases of taking something along with it.

Knoty, get a CM460, don't bother to think about generic ones.

Yes true if you got the money get a good PSU the most important part..:cool2:

I had a Quick Visit to Lamington Today;) but unluckly Bijli[read:electricity] on one side of Lamigton had gone kaput so could not get quotes from everywhere:no:

My first destination was McCann Infosys,Not much customers when I went since Bijli was not there and it was damn HOT:@ I went and gave my list and asked for quote,the Person[Bharat] straight away asked me whether I was from any online Forum;) coz he said regarding Phenom II noone really knows as it isnt currently available[by next week est arnd 13.4-13.8] and also I had mentioned HDD as 7200.12 which he said most people dont know abt and take 7200.10/11 instead:P He told me to change the Mobo,told to get ASUS 780g OR Gigabyte instead & Zebronics Bijli wasnt available anywhere as its out of stock:(

Since electricity wasnt there he could get me rates as his intercom was down,but while going he gave me his card n told me before buying to take a survey of the market and make a list of the lowest prices and he will try to give lower than that or at the same instead of me going from shop to shop:hap2:

Next Destination Computer Selection[again No bijli]Had no clue about Phenom II instead was saying that Phenom X3 is Phenom II x3:@ He didnt have Zebronincs Bijli:no: Trancend 2gb -1050,Coolermaster 600 - 3600(didnt have CM460),500GB Seagate -3200.

Next Destination Cassette World[again No electricity] and he also did wat Computer selection guy did,tried insisting that Phenom X3 is Phenom II x3:@But after much hassle he finally called another distributor who gave a Quote of 13700[Mobo+Proc].His suprise Quote was Dell 19" - 6700:O,I gave him the model number and he said Dell 19 is that only,when I asked to show he told he doesnt has the piece now:no:

Next Stop Plug n Play[again No electricity:@ ]Same situation as before no clue about Phenom II:P 2GB Corsair - 1800/Transcend -1100,500gb Seagate - 3150.Nothing else was available:P

I had enough of this side of the Road since no shop had electricity it seems,so jumped to the other side.

First destination on this side of the road was Mahavir,took about 5minutes to get cooled in AC and then gave the list;)He quickly gave the following quotes:P Mobo+Proco - 13750,2gb Corsair - 1600/Transcend - 975;),Seagate 500gb - 2975,Coolermaster 334 -2100,CM460-2500 and he too gave a even bigger suprise quote for Dell 19" - 6350:O,again asked whether it is the same model i gave him n he insisted its the same:P

Then walked few minutes and reached Prime,nice AC cooling;) Got the following quote Mobo+Proco - 14850:no: ,2gb Corsair - 1650/Gskill - out of stock but last sold at 1550:P ,Seagate 500gb - 3075,Coolermaster 334 -2200,CM460-2400 and Dell 19" - 7500:)

Didnt search more as I was getting late:)

Searched for ASUS mobo and got this ASUS M3A78-EM which seems in the budget(newegg prices),but its a microATX board would that be any problem??

Also found these GIGABYTES;) GA-MA78GPM-DS2H[microATX] & GA-MA780G-UD3H [atx]

So which of the Four will be suitable for the system

::Gigabyte::
GA-MA78GPM-DS2H[microATX]
GA-MA780G-UD3H [atx]

::Asus::
M3A78-EM [microATX]

::Biostar::
Biostar TA790GX 128mb [atx]

isnt 790 better than 780 ? coz 790 = 780 + 10 !

ya i know but the Guy @ McCann told to check for ASUS/Gigabyte boards instead of Biostar and since Iam budget he told me to see 780 series which is also not that bad either:)

Another query...Does Seagate have a 32mb Cache 500GB 7200.12 hdd?? because at Official site it says

32-MB cache on 1-TB and 750-GB drives, 16-MB cache on 500-GB drives, 8-MB cache on 320, 250- and 160-GB drives

but at ITwares it shows a 32mb buffer HDD:S
