I read that PSU wala thread & now Me in dilemma which PSU to get CM500/Corsair 400/Powersafe 500?? Iam not getting a gfx card right now but maybe few months later on say a 4850;)

get a Corsair CX400

Spending a large chuck of money on CPU and Mobo and cutting back on everything else is the classic PC buying error.
My humble suggestion: Go with the the Intel builds suggested above.

Me going the Phenom II:ohyeah: :ohyeah: so I have now the CX400 and VX450 as the new PSU options:)

I really like the config given by SidhuPunjab and Clown_abhi.

You need to do some cut and add to make it perfect:

Cut:

Proccy - no doubt phenom is good procy but do u need such power for occasional gaming, movie n programming

cabby+psu- why to invest in a cabyy with better finish n additional fan -since you are not OC.All the good psu suggested here are for those who will use high end graphics card, multiple HDD and cooling system-fan n all for OC-which is not in your list.

RAM- if you are using XP only right now- you can go for a single stick 2 GB ram and add later one another stick when you shifted to Windows7;considering you will not waste urself in Vista

Add:

Graphics card- add Palit HD 4670 512MB GDDR3 5k--- you will never regret;considering your age you will certainly like to try current n upcoming games here n there and you will be frustrated using the onboard gpu. Also this card will improve your HD/DVD viewing experiencing offloading the task to the GPU from the CPU..

Its simple dude..good luck

As of now I would be doing only occasional gaming but some time later maybe after a couple of months serious gaming is on my list[HD 4850] and hence i went for a good PSU after taking advice for the same:)

Will be on Vista and not on XP and hence 4gb ram, though I know it can be used to cut my budget,Iam currently looking at 2gb ram instead of 4gb now and will add 2gb later on:)

Thanks buddy:)

Actually me a bit confused on the PSU part,on which to get:S
Corsair CX400 ~3.2k or Tagan TG500-U37 ~3.5k or Corsair VX450 ~4k

High quality japanese caps on the VX450 vs OST caps on the CX400 makes it a no brainer. Tagan is not even in the picture.

***********so HHHHHHHHEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@hybrid black : As a first PC ur RIG seemed to be bit advanced :D are you planning to OC ? do you really need a 21" full HD monitor for gaming ? and for this monitor you will need 4850 in crossfire

Great config hybrid black:hap2:

I have tweaked my config by a bit and the purchase of rig has been pushbacked by a week coz of some unavoidable circumstances:(

Proc - AMD Phenom II X3 720BE[2.8GHz,AM3,6MB L3 Cache] ~= Rs.8.4k

Mobo - GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-US2H AMD Motherboard[uATX] ~= Rs.5.1k

RAM - 2GB Corsair XMS2 ~= Rs.1.35k

HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB ~= Rs.3k

Cabby - CoolerMaster Elite 333 ~= Rs.2k

SMPS - Corsair CX400 ~= Rs.3.3k

LCD - Dell E1909W ~= Rs.6.5k

=======================

Total ~= Rs.30k

^^Why getting a Micro ATX board?? Whats wrong with Biostar TA790GX 128M??

Many people advised me to stay away from Cheap 790GX MBs just for the sake of getting a 790GX board and instead get a Solid 780G board:)

Also BY getting a separate GFX card later, which i would be,it will lessen the importance of a 790GX IGP:P

My Upgrade has Just hit a Roadblock:no:

AMD Phenom II X3 720BE prices are just ridiculously high in Mumbai streets..Damn 9.5K:O @Prime [Source:Eazy]

Eazy also told that He had spoken to Gulbir about this, who said that there are only 2 Disti's in Mumbai for AMD CPU's & they are over pricing the CPU's because of a heavy demand

Damn the same Procc is available at Delhi for Just 7.6k:@ :@

I was really keen on getting the Dragon but I might just have to take a look to Intel Alternatives if the Prices remain so high:no: Seriously AMD would be hit if distributors keep such a high price:@ :@

^^Lol ask Amarbir /mediahome to ship it.. Warranty isn't distric wise its is viable in whole country . and don't think of getting Intel , as even Q9550 cannot outperform x3 720 by huge margin :P http://www.techenclave.com/graphic-cards/dual-gpus-and-720-be-131908.html
I have PMed Amarbir asking for the same:)

knoughtyd, get it from our dealers. Don't tell me you can't :P
But still if it would have been available locally it would have been great, but sadly the distributors here in mumbai have jacked up the prices:@ :@
