Got a Quote of 13.5K for AMD Phenom II X3 720BE + Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H @ McCann Infosys:ohyeah:

Should get my Upgrade done on Saturday:ohyeah: :ohyeah:

^^Why in the world you want such a crap Mb.. Also I don't think a 690G will support AM3 :P

Better off with 780G will set back you by 4.2k or a bit higher :)

i m using abit ip35e and e6750...how good is this compare to the amd scenario right now???

Also is it ddr3 compatible???

I m thinking to pass to another scenario as i guess intel will completely phase out this and i wont get more than 6k later

What scenario are you on about?
If you're talking about the value of your components, then im guessing you wont get more than 6k for them even if you sell them right now.
You have a processor that runs stock at 2.66GHz with 4MB of shared L2 Cache. It's also a great overclocker, you shoudn't have problems pushing it to 3.2Ghz on stock cooling. The IP-35e is also a decent mobo and will let you OC the chip a great deal. Once OCed it compares well to a stock X3 710.

Right now, if you're buying a whole new computer, go for AMD, unless you can spend enough for a core i7 config(about 70k). There's no need to do so immediately though.

To answer your other question, your board supports only DDR2, but that's not a problem as DDR3 is currently quite expensive w/o much of a performance gain. Get some good quality DDR2 800Mhz sticks, you can pick them up cheap.

If you want, you can post the rest of your config/create a new thread to clear your doubts.

Rig Updated a it ...Cut down on some and now going FULL HD:D

^^ sounds gr8...

bt u may wanna go for vx450 instead... 5yr warranty compared to 3yrs on cx400

The Config is already 2k out of my budget,so cant add more though I would have preferred but:ashamed:

Arrey people always say get this get that .. Get the on you like :P Not everyone can have SLI/Xfire or similar setup.. Think of people who doesn't even have a proper rig.. the CX400 is awesome.. My earlier rig had 200W SMPS [cheap one from HCL], filled with dust and yet OC the P4 Northwood to 3.2 and believe me I never had problem.. and I believe it will work for 5more years..

Products like CX400 are top notch and will live a lot longer so don't worry and get it.. The config you are getting is perfect :) So don't look for more alternates and get this eye closed :P

i agree with darky to some extent...got a frnd of mine who's running p4 with fx5200 gfx card,4hdd,2optical drives...all running on 400W lancer smps:rofl: never heard of it...but still his rig is going strong....he still jokes saying you had advised me to get cm460 or VIP 400W which was expensive than his current smps...dunno what to say maybe luck factor comes...

A little hijack here:ashamed: . (Interesting read till now)
I've M2N MX SE + AM2 3600. Do you think upgrading to this mobo+cpu combo is going to effect my overall pc usage? Additionally, i've 4870+3gb transcend+700w psu+22" LG.
Im actually looking to set this Pc for gaming/movies on a 32" lcd tv and for other stuff, the 22". I had raised a question in the Audio section, that i want to connect my 5.1 amp to this and probably need to buy a new sound card (for the lack of toslink out).

This mobo does seem to have optical out. Does it make sense to buy this instead of a new sound card or the gaming gain won't be too distinct?

Ok Plan to get the Rig on Saturday got stalled:PGetting it tomorow:DAlready ordered VX450 via Ebay from ITwares;) and the Rest Tomorow:)

Darky suggested me a Cabby change NZXT Alpha for arnd 2.7k or so instead of CM 334.It looks good and was looking forward to get it until I read this review:S NZXT Alpha Review

This shows that the Front Fan option is almostredundant since HDD cage is too close:S Anyone using this case ?? Need inputs regarding this:P
