Laptops USB 3.0 ports

Hi guys,
I don't know whether this is the right section of the forums to ask this query but here goes:
-I want to buy a usb 3.0 external hard drive keeping in view future needs.
-I have a dell laptop with usb 2.0 ports and express card slot.
-I want to upgrade my laptop to usb 3.0 right now if possible.
-I have googled and found some express card solution with external power to get usb 3.0 ports
-I want to know whether anybody has tried such a solution and whether it is a reliable one?
-Kindly mention the cost of the upgrade in India and post some relevant links.
-Am in Chandigarh so solutions in north India are preffered.
-If anybody has some other ideas like e-sata or something kindly share.

I can't comment on upgrading the laptop to a USB 3.0 but you can check out some deals on eBay India for external drives with USB3.0 port. You will have to decide on whether you want a portable external drive or a full size one.
