Incase u upgrade to Vista, and the modem manufacturer does not release Vista drivers,ur stuck with a DUD good thing about external modems is they connect via LAN cable and hence do not need drivers

Yes dude, I have seen that...but I am not sure, if it can be configured to BSNL...Also AFAIK KMD doesnt deal with UK unless i am mistaken Perhaps some generic model at Indian market which does the job would be fine also
