I was away for 3 months and when I switched on my Viewsonic 22' monitor (VA2226w) for the first time on my return, I noticed several dark spots on the screen. I contacted viewsonic customer care and a service engineer came today. He said that they were bad pixels but the company will replace the monitor only if there are more than 22 bad pixels. There were 10-11 dark spots on my screen and he refused to count the very small ones. I am attaching 2 pics taken from Nokia E5 (5 MP camera) where u can easily see the larger spots. My questions are:
1. Are those dark spots really dead pixels?
2. Do dead pixels come in varying sizes?
3. What is Viewsonic India dead pixel policy?
4. Will flashing high contrast image on my screen or other similar fixes worsen the problem?
