Vista look on XP

followed those steps, applied update as well...NO LUCK, all icons stay da same...and even da look of windows
only start up screen and shutdown screens modified...

yep...as anish said..
click on the Vista theme file frm Style,Styler Toolbars and Wallpaper > Visual Style folder created in your desktop.
 
Has anyone tried uninstalling it yet? Does it uninstall safely without trashing ur system? Cos I wanna try this out, but only if there is a way to revert to my usual settings without too much hassle.
 
installed it in my good old P3 500 .... works fine...but its a lil sticky once uninstalled,....the icons refuse to revert back to the original XP style...had to use system restore..
 
haven;t tried to unistall yet
but theres an uninstall option with the update (not in original exe)
shud be no probs i guess .
 
The visual style Inspirat SE looks cooler imo and doesn't require a 3rd part installer to dirty up your system.
It doesn't come with any icons or toolbar buttons though.
But it's not difficult to change those with one of the many longhorn packs available for iconpackager, y'z toolbar or stylertoolbar.
 
Well, my icons stayed the same (rest was changed, ie the menu and taskbar), until I right clicked desktop>prooperties>Appearance>Effects>Use large Icons
 
Well lucky I liked the look and I'm keeping it :D

But I waiting for Windows Blinds 5, somebody here said its got that Aero 3D look. Is it true ?
 
Latest version as of now is v4.5.9.
Some people have already got hold of v5 betas ( Are they really betas, though?)

But, it can be expected within 3 months, fall time in America! ;)
 
uninstalled vista pack...but the icons were not restored.
plz plz temme how to get back the old icons..
i don have system restore option.

Try TweakUI - Repair - Rebuild Icons
 
Well QF I'm quite surprised as the new icons look uber. Almost all the icons have been changed right from My Computer to Control Panel, to the Notepad Icon.

BTW, the new recycle bin looks awesome (A glass dustbin :D)
 
yep..i like the glass dustbin but hate that folder icon.
@Eazy..thanx but i'm unable to dload tweak UI at this time
maybe MS site is down..will try later. :)
