Hi all.
I want your advise on buy a <=150cc bike. with the following specific requirements:

Over all best performance and durability
Should give good mileage 50+ kmpl in city driving
Should be pillion rider friendly (woman sitting on one side style)

Please suggest me best bikes for my requirements.

EDIT:
I will have to drive daily home to work to home (24 Km too and fro)
For me speed, pick up and style wise average is enough
What I want is : comfort(rider and pillion rider (women)), economy, safety and durability

Honda stunner 125 CC
Hero Honda Passion
Bajaj Pulsar 135
Bajaj Boxer ( comfy seats )
Legendary ever green Hero Honda Splender .

Not in that order thou.

Well, since you havent given a budget, I would recommend the R15. Fits all your requirements.

Pulsar 135 is the next bike to go for.

For all these Hero Super Splendor fits best,. Though it's 125cc, it got decent power.
For pillion comfort, the seat should be somewhat flat, not slanted or split seats which makes the rear seat higher/uncomfy.

Discover, Yamaha RZS are other good options.

Go for a test ride or/and compare side-by-side (in parking lot. :P) before going for any.

RZS or SZ - R

Honda Unicorn: It's a 150cc which has ample power, gives close to 50kmpl. Its a Honda engine, butter smooth. It is low on maintenance and has got decently priced spares. Among bikes with slanted seats, this one felt best as far as pillion comfort, the monoshock also contributing to it.

Honda Shine: Torquey 125cc, comfy seating, just that its not as smooth as the Unicorn.

Hero Moto Super Splendor: As somebody mentioned, a very underrated bike, but quite capable. Good fuel efficiency, very reliable, peppy enough for normal use too. Seat is flat too.

Yamaha Sz-r: Again torquey, close to 50kmpl mileage, decent looks. Spare parts I believe would be costlier.

Amg,Really R15? Pillion sits sky high :)

The Discover would have been a good choice but I am skeptical about its place in the Bajaj scheme of things. They might just axe the model tmrw or day after!

:-) Thanks for suggestions. Can anyone tell me the mileage(in typical city environment average driving not best driving) of Discover(150, 135), Shine, Unicorn, Yamaha SZ series, Suzuki GS150R

Hi, Any day I would suggest Honda. I used Shine and using Dazzler now and both are real good bikes in their own ways. I would say a big no to Bajaj.

Shine:
pros:
55 Mileage in City
Pillion seat comfort
Cons:
Slim tire, so you might skid some times.

Dazzler:
Pros:
150cc smooth engine. You can hit 90 with ease.
57-60 kmpl mileage ( Yes, that is what I am getting under careful driving. Not exceeding 50-55 at any time and driving mostly in 5th gear. 1200rs petrol is giving me about 950km).
Huge back tyre for better grip, compared to Shine
Cons:
Pillion seat
Bloody hell design of back indicators. Some times, when you are getting down from the bike, your leg tend to hit the left back indicator. I am sure It is going to break some day.
