Warranty fulfillment by Portronics... Really :0

Right so I had bought a portronics mouse a few months back, I have had a good exoet8n3c with portronics products in general..

But the mouse started to act up a bit, like becoming slow and stuff while. Loving the cursor..
I portronics with all the details and this is what the sent me via email on how to claim warranty.
To avoid hassel I would follow method 2.. But seriously........

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you with your product. To resolve the issue you need to choose any of the following methods so that we can process it accordingly -
Method 1.
Please mention the issue with the product on a piece of paper, pack it properly, mention your ticket number on the top of the courier box, and send it to one of our service centers, our technical team will check, and after testing your the product will repair/replace as required. It will then be couriered back to you, Once you send the product please share your tracking details by mail.

Method 2.
Please damage your product in 7-8 pieces so that no one else can raise a claim for it again. Please share a snapshot of the same with us post damaging the product along with your complete address with state city and pin code and your active phone number so that we can process your product replacement.
Note - If you cut your product then we would request you not to dispose of the damaged product without our confirmation.
Note:- Replacement product may vary in color as it is subject to the availability of the stock

Taking a leaf out of NZXT's book, I see.

But NZXT only does this where it can't recycle the product theselves, like when cost of shipping exceeds the value of product.
I guess that is true for portronics here as well, although I highly doubt they have any kind of support that can do actual repairs, since they just whitelabel and sell stuff from Chinese/Indian manufacturers.

So it's in fact alright to go bezerk with this mouse and make a chooran out of it.....

This is a common practice, I have seen this happening for few low cost earbuds as well. It eventually depends upon the logistics cost v/s value of depreciated products.
