Hey guys,

I had RMArd my drive in May, but as I needed to move the data to new HDD, I had to purchase the new drive immediately.

I just received it today and hence its here for sale. Brand new sealed pack.

This is not 3 year warranty Drive. All new drives that you can buy today carry only 3 year warranty, as original drive was bought in April, this has full 5 years warranty which I confirmed online.

It has 5 years full warranty valid till 22/4/2015 (Guaranteed.)

Asking price :Rs. 7000/- Shipped.

Mandatory pics.

I am not 100% sure but isn't a new WD/Segate cheaper than this albeit with 3 yrs warranty ? In fact old stock with dealers still have 5 yrs warranty. NOM

I got mine for 7500 here few days back. Thats how I kept it at this price.

Seagate are cheaper at around 6.5k.

If it has more warranty than new one, no harm in asking for a lil more too for older drives if not at same price as a new one.

With the bigger drives, i will prefer having a little more warranty as reliability is not so great anymore in any brand. :)

eg. i don't mind paying same price as new or even little more for a used 1TB/1.5TB with 4 years warranty compared to a new one with 3 years warranty.

All the best for your sale. :)

At the risk of thread crapping, WD internal desktop and notebook drives are still with 5 year warranty according to the website, unless they're being slow to update it. The rest of Asia is on 3-year warranty, India being noted as an exception.

WD Support > Warranty Services > End User > Warranty Policy and Limitations - and scroll to the bottom of the table.
nice find.

ENTERPRISE, DESKTOP, AND NOTEBOOK DRIVES IN INDIA HAVE A 5YEAR WARRANTY

edit:

but still sellers are advertising only 3yrs warranty :S

edit2:

some WD drives in ebay.in have 5yrs warranty and others 3yrs thoroughly confused :S

_

Yup, that was the case. This has been pointed out in that WD thread as well. But recently purchased batches are coming with 3 year warranty. One of my 2TB drive is with 3 yr warranty, 2 are with 5yr warranty.

You can call and confirm this by walling WD directly. All drives which shipped with 5 year warranty will continue to enjoy 5 yr warranty.

All recent ones are coming with 3yr.

Bump...

Make a respectable offer and this is yours. (dont waste mine or your time with 4k, 5k offers please)

I will open and start using it if this does not sell this week.

Purchased the hard disk from Shripad ..

but opened it and it failed, did not start.:S

So, now again have to send it to RMA>>> :(

Requested Shripad to look into the matter.

how much time it will take ??

^^ Wouldnt count on 5 days. took 24 days for me and took more than a month for Shripad himself for one of the other HDs. So i guess it all depends on luck. Whatever the time is, the RMA will be done smoothly and time is the only frustration part

^^^

Its not the trend for me anyways. Gave one of mine to dealer last tuesday. Received a call last sat to come and pick up.

The disc is still with WD India and their pathetic RMA service.

It is 1 1/2 month since the RMA was created, I am fed up and they are unreachable on the toll free nos.

thanks

I had to face the same problem. It bloody took me 1 month to get a RMA done from WD..

That day I decided that I am never going to buy WD HDD. Segate Zindabad..
