As for dell, they are the most open and honest. Just go to www.dell.co.in and you are presented with the proper prices (not inflated like other places). Its very difficult to beat their online prices by a lot.

I absolutely disagree dell prices are the most dishonest of the lot. They are just screwing Indian cutomers (barring monitors ).

go this site...see the diff between price of 6300 and 6600.. They are charging a diff of 12k

Actual market price is approx 9k and 16k...that makes for a diff of 7k...

When dealing with "DELL" we should not forget the "excellent" NEXT DAY-ON-SITE warranty. In case of Processors and Motherboards bought from DELL they have a TAT of 4-5 business days flat. Maybe thats the reason their prices are higher. Saves the hassel of being without the PC for a longer period of time.

The link you gave is not working. I figured they must be the processors. Anyways, if you are buying a Dell desktop then you must surely be out of your minds. Besides comparing with individual products doesnt make a lot of sense. You pay a lot for the brand and they charge a greater premium for costlier products like the 6600.

As far as their laptops, monitors are concerned they dont put up a ridiculous MRP to cover the shitty market manipulations of the dealers/distris. Even knowing a friend who works in Dell didnt get me a lot of discount. Its very difficult to get it for much cheaper in the market than their internet prices.
