could i bother you with a request to post a little more coherently? :cool2:

Please try to avoid using ' ............ ' after every few words.

Please try to type out your thoughts in proper paragraphs/sentences.

It makes things a lot easier for someone who might want to read your posts.

FZ-16 is really great looking bike, but by specs and all it's not really very good. Apache RTR on the other hand have some nice reviews. As said above go for test rides of all the bikes you are interested in and decide.

I think suzuki lanza is a good option.but not yet proven on the roads. :p OTOH ,for small budget honda unicorn is nice option.

neo.. if u r thinkin of a used bike, then try to get ur hands on the old karizma... that is one amazing piece of machinery.. a friend had 1... n he was literally in love with it... kept it well serviced n all.. he didnt have any problems what-so-ever (performance wise).. just 1 problem... low average as it is a performace bike not a economical day-2-day use bike...

if plannin for a new 1... i would say Bajaj Discover or Pulsar (will be a little out of budget) or Apache

i would recommend u go for a bajaj... coz it will be the lowest on maintenance.. and it runs damn smooth as well...

nowadays every Tom Dick and Harry wanna go for a Yamaha as if they're all a bunch of wannabe's yet the initial euphoria over it wont last IMO.

Overpriced and definitely not VFM

Lol. i've seen so many pulsars with problems, breakdowns and of course poor quality parts ! But then they do look good and provide enough performance.

No offence to owners here but it's true !

Why not? Atleast then the PULSAR craze would go down for a change... :P

And are you telling me ppl went crazy for yamaha bikes before the FZ-16 and R15? So let yamaha start enjoying some popularity...

The FZ-16 & R-15 really are benchmarks in the segment!

Wait for Suzuki GS150R. I took a test ride, and I was very impressed at the end. If my finances would allow, I would get it in Jan itself. Now saving for it for atleast March-April Buy.

the only reason for breakdowns is poor maintainance... the ppl who have breakdowns are those who wait till the last minute to get work done to their cars and bikes...

driving my palio for 6 years now.. 73K kms on it... never once have i had a breakdown (touch wood).. i get it serviced every 1 and a half or 2 months.. and never once has the engine been opened.. all stock..

parts maybe another thing, but bajaj has the cheapest parts and you need to know a good mechanic who knows wht he is doin and knows a bike or car in-n-out...

Dude, not all can get it serviced promptly on time(many reasons) , leave alone every 1.5 months !?
So it shouldn't let one down just because it wasn't serviced on time.

Bikes only require an oil change and tightening of brakes etc. every 5-6 months or more(as per service cycle)...Unless there's a major problem !

didnt like the sanza...

mostly stuck with fz16 and apache rtr 160fi, bajaj is also there distantly pulsar 200... anyone have nay clue of street prices.. is it 75k or 65k?

i am thinking of going for 30k down rest loan.. would that be a good option..??? i can even go full down payment but now no one knows when one will get the axe at job...

so there is no second hand organized bike market to get one and use it like a b1t$h..??

still no luck with honest review for the bikes.. all fabricated with the specifications...

dude.. any car or bike goes thru hell in the streets of bombay everyday.. now if u keep pushing ur vehicle to the edge every single day then it is bound to break.. u need to get it serviced regularly..

not only the oil change and the breaks.. the clutch, the wheel bearings etc etc, finer details have to be tuned to perfection.. if not 1.5 months, every 3 or 3.5 months.. thats when a good mechanic comes to play..

i know its a little difficult to put the vehicle for servicing every 3 months.. but it has to be done to keep it in good shape and give u a long life..

RTR160 FI and FZ16 both are good choices.
P200 onroad is about 77K.

If you can afford it.. go for hard cash (full payment) option.
Paying 30k down and rest in emi's still gets 20k extra out of you for a period of 2 years and around 12-14k extra for a loan of 1 year.

Btw.. Have you tried .:xBhp: The Global Indian Biking Community:. ? for some honest opinions / reviews ?

thanks very much for the link... i was searching for something like this...

Edited:

the site was very nice with honest reviews..... among my front runners, fz apache and p200 is only left i guess...

fz is good on the looks.. rather best, but only worry is the milage....

rtr 160 is overall good and better than fz in performance.. but a hit on the looks...

can fz owners update on how comfortable would the second sitter feel... the space looks cramped up...

i will check p200 review in teh meantime.... i hope i can squeeze some time for test ride..

That's exactly what I was trying to imply, esp. evry 1.5months like u suggested...
Some ppl are too caught up with their work..busy in general !

It definitely has to be serviced often if your gonna be pushing the vehicle to its limits regularly!

now that you've finalized on the last 3, you should go and test drive them. It'll give you a sense of how good/bad the ride is. And it's you who is going to be riding it, handling, riding position are all subjective.
If you ask me, I would go for the FZ16, looks awesome:)

sure. that's gonna happen next weekend.

even i like fz most in terms of looks and a milage of 40 does not hurt me as its not gonna be used daily. what worries about it is

1. small seat for second person

2. parts availability

that apart, this 150cc bike looks good to go, provided i find it comfy to sit on. else apache or third option is pulsar200
