Crackers are made by innocent little children in the town of Sivakasi

Lets not buy these crackers and promote child labour. It also causes Air pollution and disturbs old age people

If u still want to burn your money this diwali, donate to some authentic Care centres.

Anyways, in these troubled times, I seriously doubt many would spend money on these wastes and prefer to keep it safely in their pockets

+1...havent bought any from almost a decade....poor kids make it...child labour and that too for fire crackers , explosive (obviously) and in toxic conditions....think abt working there for a day.....if you get some crackers open each one of them put ur hands in those chemicals and put them back on...enjoy the fingers...

:hap2: to everyone here who promote the no cracker rule to help protest against child labour and prevent polution....if only everyone would start thinking so...

Here's something that landed in my mailbox today. Useful for folks who want crackers. I don't so passing it on. Says no child labour used.

Ringtone Hosting

Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with the cracker manufacturers.

+1 to no crackers - But I still love them so I always go down to enjoy the show when neighbors kids burst them. Used to love the show organized by BMC at Chowpatty annually. Good thing to do - common fireworks.

Fantastic, guys! Keep up the good work. When no one buys the fireworks made by the poor children at Sivakasi anymore, the factory owners and their parents will just give up and send their children to school, feed, cloth and provide them the proper childhood that every child should have.

even if we dont burst the cracker what difference it will make to the country nil:no:
Then leave India dude shift to artic there would be no pollution there

Wah kya mast Jawab diya dono ko :D :D

I haven't burned crackers from past 3yrs.

I do lots of shopping. clothes, gadgets, gifts etc. eat some really tasty food.
Hang around with friends, have a beer. and send lot & lots of SMSes.

But "NO CRACKERS".
Trust its much more fun without crackers:D

Every diwali we receive loads of crackers as gifts from our suppliers... literally tempo-loads...

Burn few and gift most of it to the poor.

But yeah, I dont enjoy crackers as much as I used to before... Moreover this time we are in bangalore so no gifts in this new place...

IMO theres no harm in getting into the spirit of diwali and bursting a handful...

I am just amazed how ppl start harping about this child labour and pollution crap(or anything that should not be the way it is in the world) only when it suits their convenience.

This is something which is not a necessity and can be avoided

lets not talk about necessities
this is not a personal attack PCGamer but have you taken a look at your rig???
i assume your world will fall apart if you didn't have that proccy and that gfx

same goes for all those who are ranting about how they should spend on something better.... its a freaking personal choice spare other ppl from ur BS

if you are so concerned(as you are pretending to be) do something about it instead of telling other ppl to do what you don't want to do

personally i haven't blown crackers for a decade
@OP sorry for this rant

diwali is the only festival i enjoy :D
other festivals are so commercialised now, dont really feel like celebrating em now. I agree with leo, no hard feelings ppl, but its a personal choice in the end. We cant just tell ppl how to spend money or to donate money instead of buying crackers. In that case, there are multitude of things that you might be wasting on. Does that mean someone should come and tell you to donate that money instead? .. its wrong.

As far as choosing crackers is concerned, i would personally prefer noiseless rockets and/or designer rockets :D
smalls looms, flower pots (:S) any bombs :D... just enjoy ppl.

Happy diwali!

Buying crackers and bursting them is not ILLEGAL, hence everyone is free to do so..its offcourse a personal choice
Its just my opinion that buying crackers promotes Child Labour and like-minded people will avoid promoting this.

If you wish to buy and burst crakers, go ahead, no one is going to stop you
I replied to Hackers comment

But watch some videos on how crakers are made by young children in those Hell like conditions and then decide

Why should we be "pretending" to be concerned? Im not going to get a 25lakhs for telling someone to not burst crackers.
What does PCGamer's comp have anything to do with it? How in the world is it harming children...
And the only thing we can do about it is...to tell other people not to do it. It is not like we are forcing someone to stop what they think is fun. Just take it as advice if you may.

I agree with you that whats happening with those children is not right but I am just saying that you are hitting the nail at the wrong end

even if cracker production stops what do you think is going to happen
the children are going to be made to work on something else and the situation will be same all over again

Nobody wants to take a serious part in fixing a problem so they choose the easiest way to make it look like they are playing their part to make things better. But the fact is that their approach is not going to do anyone any good.
Everyone is waiting for someone else to take the responsibility.
