janitha - Car batteries are different, they depend on various factors. a prestolite in my zen lasted 2 yrs. the exide(OEM) in my accent has completed 2 yrs - even though it is heavily loaded - 1600RMS Mono Amplifier + 100RMS 4 channel Amplifier, 0 gauge kicker wiring witha 120A fuse, 4 fog lamps, 100/90 headlamps - i really never expected it to last this long. in short what matters is how much you load the battery - i only turn on the parking lights or hazard indicators when the engine is switched off, all other things are turned on only if the engine is running.
Inverter batteries are subjected to much more than car batteries taking into consideration the deep discharge, charging mechanism, application of power - in my opinion specially where power cuts are quite common.
Kippu - normal height 150A tubular battery is for 9500, tall height 150A is for 10600~10800. these are NOIDA prices, delhi is cheaper by another 200. so it seems you are getting a higher quote for a normal battery, do some googling find out a good dealer in your area. a normal 150A should cost about 8~8.5K Max
