Guys which lcd tv is hot currently in 50k segment! What most imp feature should i look for !

Plz guide! Really n00b in this department!
Tia!

Budget : 50k max!

:hap2:

only lg 32 inch plasma seen in india. Nothing worthwhile.

Plasmas available here start from 42 inchers. Prices start from 49K (may be lower if you could find a bargain).

so for 32 stick to lcds.

BTW whats the intended use?

What'll be the source?

What is the viewing distance?

Viewing distance is 10-14 ft ,

source will be tatasky ,dvdplayer mainly , pc tvout\hdmi some time and may be a console in future ,

purpose is to replace a age old tv!

32'l be too small for that kind of viewing distance.

Do consider a 42 incher. If SD content (dvd/tsky) is gonna be major viewing then i'd certinly recommend a plasma. the latest LG 42 incher and the panasonic pv8 is perfectly in your budget.

Jusy check if you could accomodate the 42 incher in the TV space.

Ok! Just came from market, got the following quote:
sony w 32 59k
samsung s5 32 43k
samsung s6 32 ~53k
samsung s5 37 ~55k

all full hd!
Btw 40" samsung is too big for hall!
What should we pick , dad liked sony bravia w 32 very much! But how samsung s6 32 stacks against it?

well the sony W series has higher contrast and lower input lag them samsung series 6 so yes the sony is better but it at the same time expensive.

^^ actually sammy has better contrast and 100hz(not for 32 inch model) but sony has better color accuracy and lesser imput lag. Also sony w series can't imput 1080p through vga.Even dvi to hdmi are know to have issues.

well if u have a look at digital versus ,it shows the sony W series has the edge compared to series 6.offcourse the series 6 40inch onwards does have the 100hz which is a notable plus point.well my friend has connected the W series in hdmi via dvi convertor no issues at all.well not sure about 1080p via vga in W series, but yes my sony V series didnt accept 1080p video via vga.

Well actually 100hz isn't that big a deal. The tech. isn't perfect yet so for movies you will turn it off. Useful feature to have for gaming but then i think enabling it will increase imput lag?.it's only useful if you watch a lot of sports channel.

Was the picture quality(for SD and high def.). as good as that achieved through a hdmi connection ??

I am planning to buy a 40 incher but can't really make up my mind which one to go for...anyway will soon create a thread for that.

well sony has launched a new Z series in UK where it has a 200hz tech, what it does is that its motion resolution is full 1080lines so thats a first for lcd tv,while plasmas achieved this a long time ago which was one of the main advantages of plasmas.so that 100hz definetly should help in increasing the motion resolution.:) but the price difference b/w series 5 and series 6 is a lot IMO i wouldnt pay that much more for the 100hz.

well there wont be no difference when u connect with HDMI or DVI,but one thing is that when we connected a xbox 360 via VGA and another xbox 360 elite via HDMI,the xbox elite via HDMI looks sharper where as the xbox pro via vga looks duller in contrast but brighter, we compared it with a replacement xbox 360 since the one before got that RROD.so we arent sure whether its is due to the replaced xbox being bad or we just didnt notice the difference earlier.

dude.. looking at your needs and budget..

id say go buy a panasonic 42pv8 with your eyes shut.. shud be anything around the 49k mark. and the best bet in todays time in the indian market.. considering the price-performance-size aspect!

Series 6 has got more than 100hz. it can upscale standard def. much better than series 5
