Which mobile operator for Maharashtra?

Satisfied Vodafone customer from many years. I would suggest to take up one more voda number for your need. Connectivity is better. I m on postpaid plan but a corporate one for 129 rental I get 1GB 2G data, 100 Mins and 30p/min call rate. But there general plans are expensive. In prepaid with a pack of 34 you can get 30p/min for all mobiles. Right now I m in Gujrat and can use my 2G data while on roaming without any extra charge. Also circles are defined very precisely. Once I leave Kalyan towards down side journey, I get roaming message.

I suspect a cartel working here. Both major players to increase the price to the same degree while reducing the caps to the same? How are the plans from Docomo matching up to others?

Tell me a good mobile operator for Maharashtra circle (except Mumbai).
Want 3g if available.
I don't do more than 2-3 hours of voice calls a week. Hardly send any SMS a month.
All the people I talk to use airtel. But seems they don't have 3g in Maharashtra now.
How's reliance or docomo or aircel?
Does reliance have GSM or they are cdma only? I don't want to spend on a new mobile.

Currently on Vodafone postpaid. Thinking of jumping to another operator.

No thanks Vodafone representative or whoever you are. I called vodafone helpline and sorted out my queries.

Btw, anyone know what this "roam like home" plan is? Seems local charges only till certain area or something. Didn't make out what it is exactly.

@6pack

From what little information i have "roam like home" is applicable for users of Mumbai circle numbers but using them in Maharashtra and Goa circle. I has asked Vodafone and they said it is not available anymore. They have removed this offer. But then someone had told me that if i recharge for 34 Rs or so (not sure exact figure), then roam like home is activated. Since i don't do much calls, i have no done this.
But i am pretty sure i have done this recharge back in 2011 sometime to activate roam like home.
I have Mumbai Vodafone number but my maximum use is in Pune (Mah and Goa circle).

@raksrules, then do they charge you roaming rates? STD at 1.5 etc?
Even I have a Mumbai number but use it mostly outside Mumbai. All my calls are charged at STD rates. :(

Yes the charges are more than what i would pay if i were in Mumbai. Not sure exact charge. But yes somewhere around what you mentioned.
But i hardly make any calls in a month. Probably less than 80 Minutes of outgoing calls per month. So going for that recharge does not help me much.
But that recharge does give the special rates for 3 months or so i guess.

I would suggest you to check vodafone.in website and search for the 34 recharge and read its details. I think it says something like all calls at 30p / min or something.

34 recharge gives all MOBILE calls at 30p/min for 30 days. I have 3 more vodafone users in my family and they use same recharge.
