The Razer is very good, as is the MX518. One advantage the 518 has these days is cost - about 1400 at Lammy, I think.

I ma gonna buy it in US n the razer is cheaper here dunno why the 518 is expensive here..more than it costs in lammy

I have a Razer Diamondback and i would definitely go with it as its a bit more expensive but it has the sexiest look and it fells blissful. Trust me u cant go wrong with razer. The Mx518 is meatier and meant for bigger hands really but again just take razer:hap2:

the db is good but i must warn you.. the wire is very prone to "breaking" after a few months of usage. i've had 2 dbs go bad on me like this.

honestly, if all you need is a good gaming mouse, get a cheap wheel mouse optical 1.1. it's just as good as any of the expensive ones and you wont feel bad even if it breaks since it's only about 700 bucks.

even I am more inclined towards the razer diamondback.. Looks like razer it is then..dunno about the wires..Havent seen wires just breaking away like that..
well lets hope it doesnt happen with my razer diamondback..gonna arder it today from buy.com:hap2:

Wires dont at all break off like that. Its not that the logitech wire is gonna be any more robust than the razer one so its all about how careful u are with ur belongings and let me tell u one thing, razer does not have any complains against them for the wire breaking shit coz otherwise they wouldnt be such a well known company and wouldnt have got all the awards that are stated on the razer db case. Its useless to talk on more about this, good thing u took my recommendation and ordered the db. I assure u wont regret it.:hap2:

i'de say get a MX518 which i got it 2 and half years back and its still running flawlessly this mouse has been to many tourney and local cybers but its still standing its 518 if u want long lasting mouse i got it for 3.5k back then its really cheap and worth the money

Razerblueprints - the razer community forums. the wire issue on the db is a well known one. Rio on this forum can vouch for me. he had the same problem too. trust me, i know how to handle my stuff. if you notice, the razer db wire is a lot thinner than the ones on most other mice.

razer are actually well known to have fragile mice. right from the boomslang.

Yup, I had that problem too... and Logitech cables are way better than Razer, don't even compare them - at least the MX300, MX310, MX500 and MX518 has better cables, which says enough :P My 4-year old MX310 still works flawlessly, but the Razer Diamondback crapped out after a year and needed fixing.

Diamondback had serious issues with the cable. It used to conk out in 6 months or less of heavy usage and required cutting the cable and mods. The newer deathadder seems to be a lot better in this regard. It still has very thin cables but its not as bad as a diamondback. Considering the price of the 518 locally... I'd say get it as sooner or later the diamondback will die.

The MX series mice had other issues I hated... the buttons are really pathetic and sometimes caused a click to not register. It got fixed after a bit of use though.

MX518... Exceptionally gr8 fer the price it offers... Razer users seems to hav some prob afte a yr of usage except fer the DA...
