Which one - WDTV (Rs 5475) Or WDTV Live (Rs 6582) ?

@manu1991

I want to confirm it from WDTV Live user that we can use torrent & download.

Guys, I am waiting for our amazing member Vinayga to test torrent on WDTV Live.

He has posted very nice method step by step for WDTV. Now I am waiting for WDTV Live. He already got WDTV Live from US so waiting until he updates torrent post for WDTV Live.

My main intention to get WDTV Live is use to watch HD movies & use as Download rig with ext HDD for torrents.

Can anyone confirm from Vinay ?

Just an update guys,

I am also thinking of ASUS O!Play HDP-R1 which has S/PDIF Out & RJ-45, HDMI. I have seen posts of people using torrent with this player. My source can get this one around 6000 INR.

Is there anyone who owns ASUS O!Play HDP-R1 Or Pls provide detailed review link of this with torrent functionality. I can surely give it a shot if its better then WDTV Live.

Hi,

I want to buy the WDTV player, As this thread running I don't want to start any separate thread.

My question is, Only WDTV Mini have RMVB support, other WDTV & WDTV live don't have. Is RMVB file support can be ignored ?

My primary concern to watch video files(avi, mkv 720p rip, wmv) in a 25" CRT TV, And I have one Seagate 320GB FreeAgent Go drive, hope this will be compatible.

And using this may I need a UPS ? Say if the power gone during playback,My HDD going to damage ?

dissel

you can consider ASUS O!Play HDP-R1, it plays rmvb.

Is there anyone on forum who have compared ASUS O!Play HDP-R1 Vs WDTV Live

Asus Media player got the award for Best Performance in last months chip Magazine.
However can anyone confirm if Asus Player can do HDDolby or HD Dts MA over bitstream or passthrough.
