Citibank beats everyone else in India hands down. But it is not for everyone, keep that in mind, with the limited number of physical branches. OFC benefits like cash @ home etc are always there. Using a general savings account, not a salary account.

I'll be grateful if we could add more value to this thread and help others who would be referring to this while they decide.

Here's my SBI Experience in almost 5 months now :
Account opening took 2 visits : 1 for research and form, second for submission with proof and actual account opening (40mins).

I have a normal Savings Account and they gave me a Maestro Card (15-20 days).
Make sure you ask for an International Debit Card since the default one doesn't work on International Sites (eg. Amazon,Paypal) and costs just 50INR extra per year.
Virtual Credit Card (VCC) facility which was a must for me is really good.
My branch in Mumbai has Green Channel Counters where you can use your ATM card while depositing the money.
Internet transactions are very smooth (2-step) and refunds were processed in the expected time-frame.

ATM network is quite dense and useful in Mumbai.
5+3 (non-SBI) withdrawals permitted per month which works well for me.
Anti-fraud limit is not possible on this card but the best way is to use VCC cards whenever you can.

I'll also be considering other banks suggested here for a second account soon (within a year this time :P)

Note : If you have any specific query regarding my experience and research, please feel free to PM me.
I got a lot of insights from the amazing people here and would love to share and give back and help you guys out.

You are most welcome Man!
Minimum Balance for SBI Savings A/C is 0 INR i.e. no balance required.
But it depends on the type of account and bank you're going for.
Nationalized banks like SBI usually offer this type of account.
Pro Tip :
Watch out for hidden charges eg : SBI charges 100 INR/year for a Normal Debit Card from the second year and SMS Alerts cost 15 INR per quarter.
These costs are fair for the service they provide but i wasn't informed about it when i opened the account.
There might be more charges depending on the services you use,so get all the information before you go for it.

Thanks for sharing the above. What is the minimum balance in non-salary a/c?
