Zebronics 640W is worth the extra 500 bucks .. go for it .. i am also using it.

and for a budget of exactly 5k Powersafe 600W aint bad at all ... infact its also very very good. Darky is using it without any issues .. and we all know he is an insance ocer and has a very mean rig.

iam very confused -

Darklord & blueyesdude have Powersafe 600W.

Funky & mohit have Zebronics 640W

Switch has Zebronics 540W

as my rig will have A8N-E+OPTERON 170+R600/G80.

dont go for the zebby 540W model .. decide from either zebby or powersafe 600/640W models.

btw the powersafe has better build quality and gives u all sleeved cables ..zebby 640w ka build quality is not upto the mark and only the 24 pin cable is sleeved.

go for the powersafe imho.

he will need 24 pin PSU only... :P

So, Zebby will be best.

And initially Darky was having minor probs with the Powersafe 600 watts

Guys...... and esp. mohit. Do you consider that a system that is running, NO matter how or at what conditions, is a proper stable system? Its darky thats why he is managing well. But the Powersafe is not worth 5k IMHO. Sleeved cables or not. Just keep this in mind. All the bling also costs money. And hence they cut down on the actual components cost.

For 5K i would definitely recomment the Zabby 640W. If it is totally not stretchable then I would say the Zebby 540W, not stay away from the Powersafe 600W. Reason: 0.4V drop meaning mediocre power regulation.

Udit,
U can see my current rig in my sig below and my current oc.
I have abt 7 fans connected in my cabinet.
Ran prime95 on one core and rthdribl on another core, giving both cpu and gpu stress.
My idle 12v rail=11.97
At load running prime 95 and rthdribl=11.84v rock steady.
I didnt see any 0.4v drop atleast in my case.
U can decide for urself now :hap2:

sorry guys i have arranged more money.

iam getting a Antec True Power 2 550 Watts for Rs. 7000.

only antec is available here in Kolkata.

Well you are not running an X1900 thats why ;). Those cards are bloody power hogs... nothing but the best PSUs can satisfy them!

THAT is the one I use - I must mention that when I run a system backup program and the CPU usage goes to 100% then my CPU core voltage drops from 1.58 to 1.48 !! I have the Temps and Voltages shown on my desktop in real time so I can see that the 3.3 and 5 and 12v rails are quite steady but not the core voltage :(

Tom has done a test on this SMPS and his report is not very good... check it out... he has some people from Antec present during the test so I am sure there is no hanky panky at least in this test :)
