Which Semi DSLR Digicam to Buy?

not really one doesn't exactly need a DSLR for night or indoor photography,EVIL and IL cameras and even some fixed lens camera can also equally do good job or even a better job.
 
The Sony NEX3 looks very interesting, Udit at that range you can have a look at Nikon D90, its a proven gem. And a Canon or a Nikon will always have a wider array of choices in lens. I have used Yogi's D90 and it was amazing.

Well he specifically said he wants a compact light weight size camera that is family members will use to take pictures of him,he also said he doesn't plan on buying additional lenses.
Tamaron has announced lenses for NEX and various manufactures have started making adaptors so one can use any lens from canikon to pentax,m leica etc
