Ever since i entered the realm of FHD movie playback couple years ago, i haven't looked back neither can I now, i suppose.Anything else like DVDs and CDs are utter puke-inducing stuff to me.Many of my friends have also started following the trend, and have become very sensitive to both video and audio bitrates.

So, anyone else share the same sentiments as mine?? Also,if someone is interested in sharing their content,u are very welcome to. :ohyeah:

I am on night(10pm to 6am) 1mbps day 512kBps connection so i only download 700mb rips, watch and delete, i feel no real need for 1080P versions for all the movies i d/l... maybe one or two super favs of mine are in HD.

yeah man same here

but it has been less time since i have been addicted to hd movies

earlier used to watch dvd rips but not those prints seems like cam prints and even worse

and if u have wd hd player its more better, one cannot explain the clarity in words

and yeah earlier i had 500gb hdd but now having 1tb is also like having 160gb hdd

currently i m having 400gb of HD MOVIES

thnxs to frnds and also members on TE

Hmm I simply cant watch 700mb rips, and HD prints are yet too large for my connection, I prefer the new BR rips (x.264 480P) perfect compromise on size and quality according to me...

i too have this bad habit now...with almost 7-8tb of HD movies... i dont like watching anything else :P

i prefer to watch the 720p ones, since they are not as huge as the 1080p ones in size and the quality is good too. stopped watching the 700mb ones more than a year back.

A proper 700MB rip is good enough for me. Anything less that is a complete no...But, games is totally different story. I play them in largest resolution possible. If required i'll reduce other variables but not resolution.

I keep combination of the two.

If movie deserves HD experience (Scifi, action, adventure etc etc ), I watch it in HD. If its some drama, I watch it in BDRip quality or rent a DVD. (NO downloaded 1CD Rips ever again for sure )

I watch few serials in HD. Few on HDTV SD quality.

This is where 32inch 720P TV that I have in my room keeps me happy. It can play SD content and make it look good unlike PC monitors.

I am buying Dell U2410 in a week's time, but I will still keep my 720P TV for SD playback.

But yeah, I wont bother or tolerate watching SD content on 1080P or 1200P LCD PC monitors.

yeah same for me as well

i love hd content and "acquire" only those movies which are worth keeping in my collection. i have a huge ever ballooning hd collection now.the only downside i see is there's not enough space for my ever growing collection.i have 4 sata ports on my motherboard and all 4 are used up by 2x1tb seagates and 500gbx2 western digital green drives and i am running out of space now.

with my dell g2410 watching hd movies is a pleasure--trying to get hd episodes for some tv shows-all episodes of top gear(#1 priority),already have band of brothers the old one and the new one,got super natural in HD-the only thing stopping me from going all out hd is my pathetic internet connection but that would change from next month with 1.5mps unlimited tata broadband at 1100rs.

700mb rips are ok as long as they are klaxxon/axxo rips.

how about having a list of must have HD movies?

should we have a new separate thread or the existing thread will do?

I was totally into DVDrips till a year ago.. Now don't like them anymore... dvdrips now look bland & blocky compared to HD encodes.. but I still download few 2x 700MB likes & If I really like the movie then 1080p all the way... For a few less likable titles I settle for 720p... But still for most titles its watch & delete for me nowadays (dvdrips)... :)

I am not a chronic HD down-loader & stick to a specific list that I've bookmarked.. there are ~25 movies left that I want to add to my collection which currently spans over 2TB of my storage now.... With scarce bandwidth it does take some time & I've to choosy selecting which HD to get... But still I prefer HD encodes mostly 1080p rather than 720p or BDrips/ dvdrips...

This is a good option. :cool2:

I dont know whether i am stupid or what but 700 MB rips too look uber cool on my Sony Bravia 46" display (dont pawn me). So i am ok with anything 700 MB rips and above :)

Also i have no time to download HD stuff as i have decent internet only on weekends.

nowdays i prefer to watch movie in theater only lol, saw few movies in theater 4-5 times. some friend call me crazy but couldn't resist :D

Other than that if movies is not on theater i wait for the HD even 720P is fine for me, early rips kinda spoil the movie.

Yeah once you start watching HD you can't go back. But it depends on other factors like size of the monitor, bandwidth for downloading etc. For 17-19 incher 700MB DVDrip also serve the the best. So if you have U/L plan and Giant monitor or HDTV who cares:ohyeah:

Yep, I have also migrated to only HD content ...either 720 or 1080...most of my fav's I have in 1080...others in 720 as its size is much lighter..

I think with the advent of technology and new benchmarks we are finding it difficult to go back to older formats as we enjoy the benefits of new ones. I had a huge collection of movies in VCD's....once i started collecting DVD i never looked back at the VCD's and gave them away to friends & relatives....now the DVD's too suffer the same.

Having only 6 hrs of UL connection restricts me to get the 1080p ones. So, I prefer the 720p BRRip ones (i.e. 2Mbps bitrate). Especially the anime's are glorious in 720p. :)
