I think his speed are not true.

It is a case of caching where user from the same connection is downloading the same file so then becomes the nearest peer and serves data to op.

In those similar cases then i got max speed on my college lan on utorrent where speed was 25.1MB/sec.

Speedtest needed to verify your plan.
Bro these are not LAN speeds .... its just a uncapped line to a particular seedbox that they have kept that way .. I would not be so stupid to show off LAN speeds ... the only reason am getting this is that I connect to that IP from US and I get these speed ..normally even when I surf I get low bandwidth :P and not everyone is getting it , just 2 of us are getting it :D and we are loving it.

See its USA IP :D

not enough space on HDD :D to keep all of them :P and i dont really mind the quality as most movies am getting here are 720p

i understand that
and to what i understand you get these speeds only on utorrent and not direct downloads. so normal browsing and some rare files which that dns is not sharing you would then get low speeds.
so do u get 720p movies shared by that seedbox?
if yes then its great to you.
as long as it gets the work done why worry ;)

yeah lastest one are at 720p and the old one of 1990s and 1980s have low resolution but as i dwnloaded DVDrips from net with the pathetic speed this compared seems hell lot good and easy :) . And I wanted guys to join in the LAN Party as well :) so posted that some using the same might be interested in sharing.

Alliance???????? :O

How come Alliance giving such great speeds. Earlier when I was Alliance customer I used to get hardly 10kbps in my 256kbps connection, and it used to be down most of the times.

Infact max. people from Kolkata has bad experience from Alliance.

Well, after hearing you looks like need to give it a try.

BTW can you please clarify some things??

1. The plan you are using, actually states the original speed that you are getting?? Or is it just a Miracle??

2. If not, then is it for that particular DNS only or the speed is same for other DNS too??(If you tried changing your DNS or some of your friends on other DNS, other members from TE can also try and confirm this)

I guess it's just a miracle for you rather than any particular plan. Just checked out Alliance Broadband service rates

As per my experience that's a technical glitch from Alliance (Kolkata). They sometimes lose track of the plans and bandwidth and start dishing out spiked speed in the range of 5-10 MBps irrespective of the plan. This condition stays for 2-3 hours min, 10-12 hours max and 3-4 days a month. That was good 4-5 years back. Didn't know they still do! :P

P.S: One day I went to one of my friends house and found he has downloaded some 12 GB in 3 hours (direct links) :O

Even speedtest doesn't reveals the true speed. It just shows the maximum speeds achievable during a particular test. But that still doesn't restricts me to show it's result in my signature.

Speedtest please.... :)
+1
and also show the tracker for the said download.

if the ISP has no restrictions on intranetwork connections (like it is on 5net) then those speeds are purely lan sort of.
only one seeder makes me feel so. it is also very easy to host a tracker on lan to make this possible.

please post http download speeds.

The Uncapped and no FUP net with UL Speed :D haha the epic speed start now :) :hap2:
bloody pirate.....

well, one suggestion for you,

Bulletstorm repack is 3GB so you're wasting 4 GB download time.

BTW, what service provider, and price?

And it's us people with slow connections who download 700MB or 1.4GB rips... what are you downloading them for???

Well cant reveal that much details all I can say that our local hub has a uncapped line to a tracker on US which is hosting 720p and DVDrips for now I used a sniffer to get the data :P and now was using it :) . If anyone is there on ALLIANCE with the DNS 10.10.0.1 .I will share what even I have downloaded and what ever if possible what ever he requests ... this is not a speed hike neither do I get them on HTTP downloads :) . Sorry cant reveal tracker name or other stuffs :S.

Great Speeds :drool2:

But why are you not sharing the Speedtest.net results.
( we understand the speedtest results might be slow , but that wont change the fact that your connection is Great , so don't worry even if it shows 500kbps with 300ms ping, just post the damn results )

Click Here to go to speedtest.

I do get 5mbps UL from Airtel.
Once they capped my speed after 50Gb (which i had downloaded in 3 days), i called them up and asked for a disconnection. Within 20 mins I was back humming at 5mbps.
Download speeds on private trackers and HTTP go upwards of 500kBps.

Nice one ... Am planning to move to a new ISP but the FUP thing holds me back .. and speed with no FUP is only available at local ISPs :( .

One more thing i observed is that for 1 seeder you are getting 4.5 Mbps, imagine what speed u'll get with a higher Seeder/Peer ratio :)

Lol.....so much hoopla about the Alliance/24-Online client "loop-hole" still!!!!:bleh:

Its been like, what 5-6 years now that this exists and almost all Alliance users are aware of it by now i would guess.

Leaving apart the technicalities, until about 2 years back any Alliance user could get such speeds 24x7 even if he had a 64kbps plan worth 560 bucks. The simple trick is/was to start the download and then log-off/terminate the 24-online client, and voila...u have your 5-6mbps download speeds, though u could not browse while logged off. And this was over and above the frequent hours where you used to get such speeds by default while the ISP would be attending to technicalities on their distribution system...way better that the so called "down-times" i must admit.:D

However, this has no connection with the Broadband in India being at par with other countries, infact the situation is pretty bleak. Its just a one-off case where the ISP, who knows about this loophole for some 2 years now, has not plugged the same in few areas where its penetration is low just to attract customers. Rest assured, once Alliance has enough customers in your area your hay-days will be over. They know how to fix it and have already done so in about 60% of its coverage area in stages. So my advice to the OP ....... Make hay while the sun shines!

Ohh and BTW, just recalled, we used to call it "PIPE"

Ah..That's the trick then :P

The title is very misleading. The OP has put the title as some new plan has come or as if Airtel removed the FUP.

This thread is not even qualified as a showoff as it works in only some cases.
