Graphic Cards Whose IQ do you prefer? ATI or NVIDIA?

Hi all,
I consider ATI to have better IQ than Nvidia, both in games and watching HD content :cool2: Wud like to know what you guys feel about this? :P
This has been a debate in the past i guess.....

PS: IQ = Image Quality, colours etc. :P

I ve used nVidia all my life and 4870 is my 1st ATI card. Has to say, it ownz...maybe my prespective will change if I lay my hands on GTX series, however, ATI all the way
 
Though i didn't owned any Nvidia card,:tongue: can't comment on this, but i've seen on many forums that users vote for ATI over Nvidia..:ohyeah: i had G-talk conversation on the same with SidhuPunjab, as he now owned HD4850 of his previous 8800GTS.. here is what he says..:P

ATI has always had more vibrant colors, but not that NV is not capable of the same, you have to fidget with the settings a lil bit.

But one diff that so very clearly visible is the 2D, somehow it is much smoother, and richer on ATI chips...
 
What I have noticed over my upgrade from 7-series Nvidia card to a 4XXX series ATI card is the sharp & vibrant image quality. So ATI for me as well. :hap2:
 
I've used these cards in my system over a period of time : GF 7300GS -> GF 8600GT -> ATI X1800XT -> GF 8800GTS 320MB -> GF 8800GT (current)..

To be frank, i havent noticed any difference in image quality between these cards.. The only ATI card in the list is the X1800XT.. I hardly noticed anything other than the performance (FPS!!!) between the ATI card & the other geforce cards..

Dnt flame me for the comment.. Its just my personal experience..
 
Checked ATI on wingy'z home. Must say the IQ is very much alive on ATI cards.

This is prolly due to their different way of use of shaders

The IQ is pretty much visible to people who have used Nvidia and then switched to ATi.

In Nvidia, the IQ is a bit hazy, as if the saturation is pretty low, and i think its because of that reason Nvidia's cards were much stronger as they didnt have to process the most obvious factor - IQ. :P

When it comes to ATi, the IQ is pretty much contrast oriented, thus the color representation is very nice. Like SP said, black is black and not grey, i guess my above statement proves the point :D

Disclaimer : dont flame on the above statements, they are just a thought and not facts :lol:
 
lol rockfella dont u have any other topic to think about to increase post count ?? whats the point of this poll ? :rofl: , u think HD 3450 IQ is better than HD 4850 IQ :P u just feel IQ difference because u have heared its better , compare side by side u will notice no difference .
 
yea intel IQ is great , i noticed good difference between G31 and 9800gtx IQ , even with vista aero its noticeable . :P
 
^^ Intel's 2D is the worse among the lot, I would prefer even the VIA chipsets over Intel's 2D....
 
ATI has always had better IQ, ever since the 9 series ... and it's easily noticible when using 2D apps like Aces said
 
Post count? well the reason of this poll is to convince everyone nvidia sucks so that noone buys ur second hand nv cards next time :rofl: that 3450 smoothness thingy is due to my mobo i guess, nevertheless its the red team VS green not 3450 vs 4850 :cool2:

Quads onwers cant imagine decent OCing on cheap G31 mobos, once u have quad u'll know.. till then be a dual guy :P

U guys remember Anandtech once tested Nvidia 6150 vs ATi 690G vs Intel G965

i never owned a ATI card so i voted for 3rd option " i hardly notice any difference" :P
