Why are Indian News Channels always shouting out news in a loud, tinny, urgent sounding voice?

It's so irritating. Hearing their voice makes me hit the back button on YT. All other foreign news channels - from Japan to Indonesia, China to Russia, France to UK, some Afrikan channels, all talk in nice non urgent tone.
Switch to Indian news - english or hindi and you have some news reporter shouting at the top of their lungs like the mic is kept 100ft away from them. Nasty. They sound like fish vendors shouting in a fish market.
F them. Scourge on eardrums.
Anyone still hearing such news channels and feel like punching them?

Lol. Been complaining to my parents regarding the same for a long time. This started from around 2010 or so, and has been gradually progressing to reach the abominable stage that it is now. The sole fault is in the recruitment process of these news agencies, diction and pitch are pillars of it but obviously they only care about trp. When the number of death grows in a disaster just listen to the joy and excitement, and if there's no fatality the deep sadness.

I guess this is part of the Indian culture than some bhakts boast about. There's the news in our local DD channel (DD Bangla in our case) which is the only one still maintaining the decency.

Not just news channels, but the whole indian media industry is obsessed with it. look at the saas-bahu dramas or horror bollywood movie. script= total garbage, pathetic/irritating sound=100%.
Thanks to OTT/youtube, we can watch something else.

Stopped watching this garbage long ago.
Also most of it is never reporting actual news but manufactured debates and opinions.

Dont miss to watch this absolutely brilliant take on such things by Gaurav and Kettan in India's laughter champion.
Oscar Worthy.

I might be wrong, but I believe this started with Arnab Goswami and his India wants to know rhetoric. The "debates" he used to conduct used to be just him shouting at 4 panelists.

My friend from Poland just left few days ago.
I can share this message ..
I'm back in Poland now. Interesting experience, your India The worst was probably the honking of horns and the smog in the air...

There are other messages which is related to it but has personal information.

But how loud we are generally not just with news channel.
On Roads too. Continuos honking most of the time for no reason.

It has become our culture now.
I have seen foreigners frightened when they hear honking like this especially when they crossing roads.

Frustrated the entire day on field, they do deepthroats with each other every night so they can raise their voices better the next day and so the impact. Thus, even their normal tone sounds harsh.

plus the music they choose. i saw Ht channel using rock music for some sad earthquake video. lol. Whoever chooses the audio track just does it randomly from a folder i guess. Add the first instrumental track the mouse clicks on. Worst is such videos are passed without QC and sometimes with spelling mistakes.

Even Indian trains have very loud horns. Extremely loud. Local train drivers just love to honk when they come at a station. I think we will become a partially deaf population. in few decades (=.=)'

We already have.
Atleast 40% of my relatives have to be talked a bit loudly for them to hear clearly.

Even I have to be spoken a little louder to hear clearly.

Watch Sony channel and wait for the commercials to begin and bollywood movies esp when the songs starts playing..the volume automatically hits orgasmic tone. If your tv remote volume level is 10, during these shit moments it will amplify it to 14-15 easily for no logical reasons!
Even porn movies don't have such fine tuned audio for orgasms and here we are inwasting into BS!

Desperately trying to grab attention

24-hour news channels were a bad idea. There is not enough content to fill 24 hours so they manufacture urgency. Add few years of fierce competition for race to bottom and you get Arnab.
I miss the days when you could catch the news in just 30 minutes!

only sane news is DD Sahyadri (marathi) or DD national for hindi or Sansad 2 (which was Rajyasabha TV formerly)..

NDTV eve session used to be good but after Adani takeover that too turned shit since last 2months..

I stopped watching news channels some time ago due to always telling the same news 24x7.
Because I now have OTT to watch. I read a local news e-paper sometimes.

If we keep watching the news and worrying about all the bad things, we might miss life happening. Just turn off the tv and never look back. 20 years now, and haven't regretted it. Life is way more than whats on tv and the news.
Might even end up with your own opinions and thoughts on the status of things rather than what's been parroted by news etc. ;)
