I no longer see creative headphone, speakers etc. did they shut shop or just close down ops in India. If I remember, rashi peripheral was the auth distri.

Sound blasters are still being sold on Amazon, at least until a few months ago.

They still seem to have an Indian website running. Most products are OOS though. The ones that are available, like these pairs of TWS Earbuds, seem to be cheap drop-shipped items. Shame.

Audio - Any clue what happened to F&D and Creative in India?

I have fond memories of Creative 5.1 speakers and have an F& D soundbar now which was purchased few years back. Was just searching online today and I see that both brands have a very token presence on Flipkart & Amazon. Did Boat wipe them out? Surely, Creative had better quality audio...

The youtube-techbros have steered the mass market away from legacy brands leading to their demise could be one of the reason.

Onboard audio and laptops killed sound cards, their main bread and butter.
iPod and iPhone killed PMPs.
IEMs, TWSes and Chi-Fi killed earphones.
They themselves killed speakers. Even earlier, they had sub-par speakers (barring Gigaworks). Altec Lansing and Logitech had much better offerings. Moreover, people moved away from laptop/desktop and towards living room for entertainment (investing in soundbars, studio monitors etc), thanks to smart TVs.

PS: Thank God they did not try to make a phone or TV.

Add to the list all cheapo Chinese brands making big in the market & typical Indian tendency to go for the cheapest crap no matter the brand.

I'm fortunate to still own creative sound blaster speaker set & altec lancing 4121 though it is now lame only with a single functioning speaker.

Soon, brace for a single brand as almost all major brands now manufacture every stuff.

That single brand will most probably be named, "Blackrock" or "Vanguard". Or, they will re-name the brands they own with with the prefix, "Buy N Large".
