Forum Feedback Why was TE down?

Its a shame that a site like TE runs on a limited bandwidth hosting solution, considering the number of page views it gets and the kind of money it is bringing in.

@ iprincepankaj

It was the bandwidth which was exceeded and not the hosting space. How much space do you think a forum requires.

TE has sufficient bandwidth to cater to the traffic even if it increased more than 5 times. Unfortunately someone had set a limit at 300GB and it got exhausted in just 20 days. I have reset it as unlimited.

You seem to be completely aware of the kind of money it is bringing in. Just out of curiosity though, what is an unlimited bandwidth hosting solution? The ones you get for $10/month?

They took the pain to keep it up and running for years now, its only natural to want to make money out of anything you invest so much time in. They are however not obligated to spend all the money on the server. Updates when needed, minimal possible downtime and sufficient staff, I'd say they are doing great.

TE is back :) i was eagerty waiting for it. Got couple of question for tech gurus, will be posting those soon.
