Wifi network range enhancement options ?

On a related note, Is anyone using a unifi AP?
Roaming will always have handover issues (devices tend to stick to old poor signal ) and would not mind switching to a single AP as long as the signal is uniformly strong
Anyone using a Unifi , can you please comment on the relative improvement over a consumer grade AP/router?

I have same SSID setup. Asus wifi router connected to ISP. Another Cisco 3500 AP connected to Asus router via cable.
There is no roaming issue on laptops or iOS. But, almost none of the androids jump off from one ap to another.
