Wii In India?

Hello guys...

My Dad saw a Wii in some Vasant Vihar store just the other day and his colleague had bought one from the same shop.

Now I would like to ask if the Wii has launched in India or if it is imported? If it is imported.... then from where?

Nor will it be launched anytime soon. Demand for the Wii is high in North America and Europe; India will not be in Nintendo's priority list.
 
hey.. my bro wants 2 buy ta wii from us.. iv told him il check if it wud work here in india.. an also i wanted to know how much are games available for here.. r they even available? an do u gt P****** games for it? an wud it run on them or wud it need modding?
 
I don't own a wii but unlike u i know a lot about consoles to be able to help u. it looks like ur a n00b and i would like to suggest never buy a wii except its NTSC U/C, it has the tendency to brick often if u play games from other regions AFAIK. You can get pirated games for under rs. 150 i think, as they are on normal dvds just as normal ps2 games are. And of course u would need a modded wii to run pirated games. Many modchips are available out in the market.

And do NOT pay more than 19k for a modded wii in India, the wii isn't worth for that high anyway, and at the end of the day u'll be happier with a modded 360 (same price if u ask me) instead of a wii unless ur a Nintendo fanboy. Don't say the 360 RRODs to often, if u take care of ur things, problems will nearly never occur. Another option is a ps3, u would get it for 16-17k if u import it from the US, the only problem as of now is that no pirated games available. I am against the wii a lil bit cause ull be happy the first few limited weeks, not after that, u'll just keep it to "show off" it to ur frnds as u'll be interested no more.

I hope this helps and u go on to buy something that is truely nex-gen unlike the wii.

If you mean that you know japanese and love reading all menus and settings in japanese that is. The language of japanese consoles can NOT be changed to english.

wii is not truely next gen console....how can u say tht....its the fastest selling console till date....only drawback is it is not launched in india .....u might b knwing tht microsoft and sony both r working on wiimote like thing.....why they r doing this.....think it ? u might change ur opinion.

Hey mate,
come on, next gen is HD and not SD, on top of that i didn't say i h8 the wii, i said for some 20k it is obsolete, u can get something hd with that huge amount, and only microsoft is working on something like that and not Sony, Sony already has the sixaxis whereas the 360 doesn't.

i dont say the wii is not good or something, its excellent, nice concept, but if ur paying nearly 2x the normal amount, it for me IS

on top of that the Wii has very few 3rd party games which are very good, unlike the 360 or the ps3, whose strength lies on both 1st and 3rd party games

actually my bro wnts to buy it (hes 10 an wel i cnt really tel him to change to a ps3.. wev already gt a ps2 an 1.. ) hmm altho even i wnt a ps3.. so i shud tell gt only ntsc if he does gt wii from us an thn il hav to get it modded here.. any idea of modding costs?
