Will my railway ticket get confirmed?

So J of you that you get to go to Bhopal while I slog my ass off here in Bangalore. Now, you're in a fix. Just try going booking a tatkal on 6th. If that doesn't happen then take the Bangalore - Pune - Bhopal bus route. Or even Bangalore - Pune - Indore - Bhopal (more availability of buses on this route.)

I'm all prepared for a journey by Bus if my railways woes are not cleared. Which route do you suggest is better: Bangalore-Mumbai-Bhopal or Bangalore-Pune-Bhopal? Budget is also a constraint here. And also, once I reach Bhopal, what are the means of transport I can avail. I need to get to the Bhopal Railway Station once I reach there, where my contact would pick me up.

P.S. 2AC W/L 11 now, 3AC W/L 36

Hey guys, my 2AC has moved up to W/L 2. I think I have high hopes of getting my berth confirmed by tomorrow, what do you guys think?

Can't seem to find out what my waiting list no. for 3AC ticket is, getting an error.

wait list direct not convert into confirm ticket,it goes to through RAC first and then it confirm..so chances of RAC is very high...

It should get confirmed IMO. FWIK, there are some quotas for every station wherein some berths are reserved for VIPs. These generally do not get occupied all the time so the ones higher up in the WL get their seats confirmed. But don't get your hopes high though since there is no guarantee that you will get the seat confirmed.

Good luck!

Still showing W/L 2.

I shouldn't worry about not being allowed to travel in the train now? I don't mind sitting or sharing the seat. All I care about is getting myself to Bhopal in the most hassle free way.

Unless it moves to RAC, your ticket will be automatically cancelled by the system and you cannot board the train.

Anyway as @Gannu mentioned, unfilled berths from other special quotas will also be used to accommodate passengers in the general quota, so usually there will be a significant change at the time of chart preparation which will be approx 4 hours before the departure.

W/L won't get you the chance to board the train legally. But there's always the TT way, which won't be hassle free though.

Showing W/L 1 for 2 AC now, 3AC is W/L 5. One more hour until charts are prepared. I can check the charts online too right, on the same website? Or should I go to the railway station in person?

^ Yes, just check the PNR status like usual, it will have the details once the chart is prepared.

From my experience look like your ticket not going to confirm on time...
Tatkal is best option for you.be ready at 10 pm on 6 th December....
Don't cancel your ticket right now as if it still show waiting list then you will get refund automatically

If you are planning to book tatkal tickets via irctc portal, i suggest you take a hike as the site is declared 'mentally challenged' between 10.00am to 12.01pm, tatkal tickets are best obtained at the counter.

Every train has reserved slots for general quota, tatkal quota, senior citizen quota, ladies quota etc.,
Assume a train has 40 seats in tatkal quota, out of which only 35 are booked, the balance 5 are alloted to the general ticket holders. Now if tatkal has 45 bookings (5 extra over the alloted quota), tatkal people get 1st preference for getting a birth upon cancellation.

Have you tried booking the ticket in 2 parts?
Example if you want to go to Varanasi from Mumbai, look for Mumbai to Jabalpur and then Jabalpur to Varanasi in the same train.

Experience does not count mate, its the quota system that decides if he gets a reservation. My Boss's P.A. knows inside people from railway as he gets ouur tickets booked in VIP quota, hence I know all thiss hit (Spelling mistake on purpose).

go to indiarailinfo.com and look for 2 part or even 3 part ticket :)

Oops, seems like you are travelling today, I hope the post will be helpful for you next time ;)

Hey guys, the chart has been prepared.

*Current status: Coach A2, Berth 31

Is that RAC? Or I have a confirmed berth now? Anyway, I'm happy that I can board the train.

Thanks for the help from all the guys in this forum :D

He'll get a side berth, which is pretty uncomfortable, atleast for me :p

No, I got a lower berth, not the side one. And the guy opposite me got down in Secunderabad itself, I was mostly alone below for the rest of the journey. It was good.

Now, the quest to come back to Bangalore begins. I have booked a ticket in 3AC KARNATAKA SMPRK K EXP for tomorrow. The waiting list is RLWL 6, which is given for boarding from intermediate stations. I'll go tmrw morning and wait at the railway station to check whether I get a seat or not, if not, then :hail:waiting room :P[TABLE="width: 600, align: center"]

OK, the chart has been prepared now. My status is W/L 2. Can I expect to get a seat after the train reaches Bhopal from Delhi?
