Windows 7 Beta 1 6.1.7000.0 leaked to torrents

If indeed the Windows 7 initial first beta release will have the build version number of 7000, the DVD ISO image of the 32-bit (x86) Windows 7 6.1.7000.0, , has been leaked to Internet (MDL forumers have started downloading since hours ago). The downloaded ISO image will have the MD5 hash value and size that match the previously reports Windows 7 Beta1 ISO details and screenshots.

Yes, we can if its legal. Torrents itself is not illegal, only the pirated stuffs in it are illegal.

What thread started posted is only a beta version, which is meant for testing/troubleshooting or whatever :P

There is no problem with the Torrents or P2P, it is just another protocol or medium of download like HTTP or FTP. The trouble lies with the content you are downloading.

I don't think Windows 7 Beta would be considered warez, if it is, then mods can remove the link from the post.
 
Torrents are not illegal but it depends on content.

This is meant for the private distribution. So at the moment, it is illegal. Any content that is leaked without permission of the producer / developer /distributor is illegal.

The official beta is coming out in little over 2 weeks and it will be free for all download. That time it can be considered as legal.
 
official release date is still at the speculation stage until announced by MS :D it will be all over the internet when its known

Just run windows update and install additional updates. It should have all the drivers. 99% of all current hardware works with the windows update.
 
A quick question about Windows 7, do windows XP programs run on it? Or do they have to be "Windows 7 Certified" or something? Or All programs/drivers that are compat with Vista are ok with windows 7?

Miss the win2k => XP days, almost everything transitioned without a hitch.

Nearly all of your Vista Compat apps will work with Windows 7. A few which won't, can be made to work using Compatibility mode settings.
