neojjjk said:yea they must reduce the price of software...I am expecting 3k or 3.5k for home edition ,,and 1k for starter edition
baccilus said:I don't think they will ever learn. They force people to use pirated stuff. You know people actually buy antivirus now because it is affordable. And many more are buying the games they want to play. But the MS people may never learn.
Agreed. they need to consider the purchasing parity into consideration for sw pricing in India. (An avg engg in the US earns 4k-6k/month... in India it would be starting at ~20k INR)neojjjk said:in my opinion they can sell a OS for 1k or 2k.
220$ for ultimate edition
means 11k
neojjjk said:yea u can buy hardwares --> cpu ,gpu or a decent mobo for less than 10k
and u have to give 13k for an OS ...?

If people are interested then I can try. Apart from me I will need 9 more buyers and then we can get Win 7 Prof. + MS Office 2007 standard for just Rs. 1,700/-. What do you say?

Simply stated, volume licensing of software makes it easier and more affordable to run software on multiple computers within a single purchasing organization.
By acquiring software licenses through Microsoft Volume Licensing programs, you only pay for the software license. Boxed software, on the other hand, includes media (the CD-ROM or DVD), a user's guide and other packaging items.
