not lame but u wld expect more after the come back...but wen u compare the gameplay nd graphics with the good old RTCW..this fails in all the aspects...as the earlier was a breakthrough in all the ways...i guess as ID took over the results r bad...

I don't know why ppl are complaining :P. Its the same style as RTCW, very very similar gameplay and loads of fun killing nazi b****ds LOL :P

^Graphics sucks at least from the screenshots! Over a course of time, we expect a transition like the Farcry to Crysis sorts. :P

If you compare it with modern day titles, then it's way out of the league. But then again, it's running on Doom 3's modified engine, so you can't do much about it. Since there isn't much to play these days, this would be good to kill some time & like Chaos already mentioned,"loads of fun killing zombie bas****s".

Graphics are okay. They aren't that bad. Plus the system requirements aren't that high.

just installed and played game for 10 mins , looks good , running on max settings and full AA , graphics are good enough . gameplay seems great also :D

Bah graphics are okay (Doom 3 was a lot lot better! What form of D3/Q4 modified engine does this one use LOL!) but gameplay seems to be like the COD + Farcry 2 style. Get the objectives from a central guy, kill badasses, retrieve some artifact. Wonder what id was thinking!

RTCW was legendary. Expected a better comeback. Perhaps I was expecting too much. :(

the game is average for the first few missions. it gets really, really good after about 3-4 missions. if you have the game and you're playing it, at least get to the farm mission, which is where it really starts to shine.

after that it's extremely fun to play. the graphics are pretty good for doom 3 tech. aa needs to be forced from nhancer for nvidia, no idea how it works for ati.

btw guys, the game released in india today. buy it if you like it ;)

Game gets interesting like spindoctor has rightly said. Heck, I've just completed around 37%. :\

Its amazing what they were able to do in this game with the COD2 (Modified DOOM3) engine. The game is pretty good too.

RTCW was one of the games that I always remember because a lot of my bus journeys during my college time were spent on debates around this and DOOM3. RTCW supposedly had parts of DOOM3 engine back in those days and we DOOM3 was one those games that was excessively hyped in those days.

Now this game carries the same Wolfenstein name, has similar kind of Nazi and Paranormal Research background and is made on the DOOM3 engine when ID is working on the next gen engine.

just to point out some few corrections...COD 2 was built on heavily modified Quake 3 engine(id tech 3 engine) which infinity ward licensed for the first COD.Tech 3 engine is id's most successful engine(MOHAA,COD,RTCW etc).

DOOM 3 engine is id's tech 4 engine which came later and was developed ground up from scratch.Quake 4, Prey and now Wolfenstein(both quake 4 and wolfenstein are raven soft games) are all developed from tech 4 engine(hence the credits for id)
Id is currently working on three projects...Rage,Doom 4 and Quake Live.Rage and Doom 4 are developed on tech 5 engine but follow entirely different development cycle. id software was very recently taken over by zenimax studios which owns bethesda softworks as well.Rage will be published by EA ending a long run of id with activision. So there is lot happening at id house...changes in business model, bigger teams etc.

And initial impressions for wolfenstein dont look good.we all kno its fun to play (i just defeated zetta :)).endrant studios which was called in to complete the multiplayer part of wolfenstein is now officially closed.

Guess i'll finish this and keep my fingers crossed for rage, doom 4 and unannounced quake arena project :)

Doom3 used the id Tech 4 engine, the same engine used by ET:Quake Wars & Q4 whereas RTCW used the same engine as that of Q3A, SOF II - Tech3. I'm not sure how could you find a similarity between the two games when one used to run maxed out on my 9600XT back then whereas the other used to struggle in Medium settings! :\

PS: I defeated General Zetta too. :ohyeah:

^ endrant isn't closed yet. they just got fired from the project after the game shipped.

thanks for correcting...

have been id fan boy ever since q3 hapened to me (played q3 demo alone for 1 year :D).they were shy group developing titles with huge dev time.now they are much more aggressive and things look impressive with rage.finally they can compete with valve:clap:

Back to the topic...one thing worth mentioning in wolfenstein is fluidity of gameplay which ,imo, can be rivaled only by cod4.it is something terribly missing in recent fpses(fallout 3 anybody?VAT?WHAT?!!!)

so many games are sidelined esp fpses when they stick to old school formula.see what happened to doom 3 and now wolfenstein. i mean give me serious sam or painkiller variant anyday and im happy kid...:D

I completed the game the day before yesterday, itz an good game but not as i expected to be, if you'd compare it with doom3 and rtcw than i would say that wolfenstein is not as good as they were.
