My friend who just bought a 6600GT from Techhead needs a decent PSU coz' his one is crapping on adding the 6600GT. His config is 865GBF MOBO, 2.8 Northy with a DVD-ROM, one 80 Giger and a 200 Giger. His max budget is 1.5~2K. Pls. lemme know first if anyone is willing to sell a PowerSafe preferably.

I wanted to sell my Antec SP 2.0 400W but then i saw his budget...
Anyways.will let you know if any friend of mine wants to sell his PSU.

Yes but as ppl told me the new ones quality is much inferior to old ones quality... Anyways... Pick up the 450 Watt naa... I have offered you a good price :)

@ blade, have you opened the old and new powersafe 400 psu and compared the components to come to this conclusion , if so please enlighten us on the difference between the two.

As i was on lookout for 2 400 ~ 450 watts psu and was seriously considering these models.

The price of a new Powersafe 400W psu is Rs. 1400 in Mumbai..... and the 450W one is for Rs.2100. (+/- 100)

if switch has offered you a "good price" for the 450W one then i suggest you go for that one ...

Alas not as adventurous as you. But this comes from a very good source. Switch might have been told by someone he knows as well. One more person i swear i've heard this from is either apollyon or darklord during the DFI launch. Since you are good at these things and i believe you have a older model of the VIP 500W you could do a comparison and dispell any doubts. :)

i have a Powersafe 400w will let it go for 1000 bucks but u have to share the shipping 50-50 ..... its a 20 pin PSU if u want i will give converter(20-24pin) worth rs 375 for 100 wats say .....

The new PSU's (ver 2.0) comes with a 24 pin mobo connector (P1) and you get a 24>20 pin converter cable to connect it to 20 pin motherboards.

The older and some present PSU's comes with a 20pin mobo connector (P1) and you can use a 20>24 pin converter cable to connect it to 24pin motherboards.
