Hi Guys,

Been facing this problem for a looong time. Sometimes my x-fi is not detected by the system and device manager just recognizes it as a pci card. And Creative Launcher shows the following message -

There are no audio device available. You need to close this application now.

Generally this error goes away by disconnecting and reconnecting x-fi or changing the pci slot. Now today this error is not going, no matter what i do.

I reinstalled the drivers but still error is coming.

Any one else experienced this error?

EDIT: Well its working now... i let Device manager update drivers for pci 'multimedia audio controller' which it later found as x-fi audio. Then i later installed creative x-fi software....

But seriously its a lot of pain to get the software running for this card..anyone had any issues on driver front?

The issue i faced was wen i changed the sound card from slot A to B or B to A that's wen i had to reinstall the Drivers.

I've had these issues.. card was detected sometimes, but on other occasions, wasn't getting installed. Gave up and got an Asus.. whole new set of problems with THAT card :P

this usually gets resolved by swapping the slot of the card...
if it doesnt get resolved that way...try changing the irq of ur modem from bios...it helped me the last time

If you're having the problem with Vista, I've got the same problem. I'm on Ultimate 64 bit. Works fine in XP. X-Fi Platinum user. The latest drivers are supposed to fix that but they don't. I'm on the latest drivers too. We'll have to wait for another patch. If Chaos reads this and is on Vista do comment, you'll help me too.
