1) A capacitor can "fry" if there is a short in that rail. infact all the caps in that rail will "fry" if there is a short. overvoltage (about 20% of thhe rated voltage of the capacitor) will also damage the caps.
this short condition / overvoltage / over current can be due to many reasons including
physical damage on a m/b since they are multilayered.
This physical damage could be due improper packing as a consequence of which actual physical damage can happen during transit. or it could be due to a faulty psu / improper connections. (see i am not taking any sides
)
2) Where does village / city come in the picture.
there should not be much difference in courier costs, unless the courier co's are different and there is express delivery.
it is in a very bad taste to bring this city / village concept here in a tech forum. India, our country, truly resides in small towns and villages. They are the essence and reflect our glorious culture since ancient times.
We are all alike here, no ego hassles or superiority complex here.
so kindly refrain from using such logic or concepts (city / village divide) to vent ur anger or frustrations here.
3) no comments regarding giving / receiving itrader ratings.
4)it is highly improbable that i/o shield is not packed in a m/b. unless the m/b is bought second hand from the market very cheaply. if the i/o shield was not present did you inform the buyer or posted about it in ur sale thread ? i/o shield is an integral part of the m/b system. different m/b's have different i/o configurations. if the i/o shield was not present and if the buyer was not informed it was your duty to buy a compatible i/o shield from the market and include that in the package.
5) weather = i leave it to the gods.
6)it is wrong to conclude that a m/b will work on only 1 given psu. that also on that piece of s**t coolermaster extreme series 600W or 6lakhW,whatever. any psu supplying 12 ~ 15 amps on the 12V rail is more than enough to power up the m/b with an inexpensive (meaning less power hungry) gfx card.
7)see point no:2 above.
8)Contradictions in both of you guys statements.
vinaycm says that you told him it cost you Rs.1000 to replace the caps. while you say that you did not replace it and just had it RMA'ed. we need a lie-detector test or probably narco analysis to find out the truth.
9)irrelevant
10)see point 1 above.and once again i state that it "could" be due to multiple reasons but transit damage is looking like a prime candidate.
conclusions:
More members should post about their expiriences here (not in this thread but on the site). it will avoid the situation that jesal / vinaycm are facing here. infact i would like to suggest that any FS thread should be closed only after the feedback from the buyer. at present only the seller / op has the ability to close it i believe. why dont we have a system like when a seller / op closes the thread, the thread remains open and message is displayed for the buyer to post the feedback. no other posting can be done there except by the buyer. after the feedback the thread is finally closed by the seller /op.
if the buyer does not post for say 1 week then the thread is closed automatically. this will help in giving more transparency to the market section and it would be useful for new, young & inexperienced members.
