The 1330 and 1530 are widescreens right? A 13.3 inch widescreen must be very poor in terms of screen height. I've a 14 inch widescreen lappy and I can't stand the low height.

The 13.3" should do fine at 1280x800, but imagine a 15.4" at the same res. Which 14" notebook do you use? My last 14" was perfect at 1400x1050.

@14inch anything higher than 1280*800, the text wud be too smal for comfort..
Besides, running games @that resolution wud tax the graphics card,,,

And if u go below, per pixel mapping takes its toll on the graphics card...

So thats y 1200*800 fo 14inch is perfect,,,
Yeah for 15inch one can consider going higher..

Yeah, the M1530 specs were good but the display was a bummer when I took a closer look... and not worth it afterall!

My XPS M1330 finally arrived a couple hours ago, it couldn't have been a sweeter Christmas eve... :)

Damage?

10 chars.

Retail price for the config was 71k, of course I didn't pay so much - don't ask me because I can't share it :)

The notebook is a piece of work really and it's seriously friggin' light, but it's going to take a lot of time/patience getting used to Vista lol.

Anyway i wouldve definitely bought this if i had the moolah :hap2:

i have some questions for rio..

1. Did u opt for a 9cell battery pack?

2. Did u opt for a carry case? Is it good to buy a carry case from dell or shall i buy that from some other place? i think it wont cost the 1800Rs dell is asking if i buy tat from some place else.

3. U said u travel a lot. What internet connection are u going to take for 1130? ( i know wrong place to ask the question.. but still [:p] )

1. Nope, I went for the 6-cell because the 9-cell makes it a bit bulky (check pics and video reviews) and beats the purpose of having a light-weight notebook. I might get a second 6-cell battery later but for now 3-hours backup time is sufficient.

2. I did not order a backpack or carry case but I hear the Dell cases are pretty neat, and they cost lesser than you will pay for branded stuff in retail stores.

3. All this while I have been traveling only within India, but I'm moving to the UK and plan to travel within Europe for a few months... there are many connectivity options while I'm on the move there :) For now, I'm on an Airtel broadband connection that comes with a standard router hooked to a Netgear WiFi router.

^ Awesome Rio, would love to check that LED in person, do bring it with you when your down here :)

Congrats! :D
