71-90K Please Suggest New Desktop (70-80k)

Hello everyone i want to build a PC . I am not gonna upgrade the PC and planning to use it for few years and want it to run anything that might happen to come.I am not really interested in High pixel HD games.




Q: What is your budget?
Max 80k


Q: What is your existing hardware configuration (component name - component brand and model)
CPU - Amd Phenom 9500
Motherboard - Asus XXX

GPU - Nvidia 8600

RAM - Transcend 2X1GB

Monitor - Asus 22 Inch
SMPS - No idea

None I want all New .

CPU - Intel 3rd gen I7 or I5 (whichever suits the budget)
Motherboard - any compatible motherboard with 3.0 ports Hdmi ports,(probably comes with all).

GPU - Maybe Nvidia 680/670/580/570/560 The best i can get within the budget. I m concerned about the power as i m from Jhansi(u.p) there is lot of power cut and i m usually on backup (generator or Inverter) So does it make a diff. ??Should i go for low power GPU ???Will the computer be able to run with say like 1.5kW inverter?

CS and AOE (Hardly require anything:)
But still its good to know that u can play games like BF3if u want too

I have no idea about the Cabinet ,Power or the cooling part .Please excuse for the limited knowledge.Thanks for the advice.
 
Also I woulda like to add that i will be placing Pc in my bedroom si i would like it to be as much silent as possible.

Curious to know How i7 3820 fares in comparison to 3770. I have heard that it's power consumption is on the higher side.

Terrence, here is the answer -- Core i7 3770 vis-á-vis Core i7 3820.

The difference between the two platforms are --
  • The Ivy-Bridge platform is geared towards home users and gamers, thus frugal power guzzling.
  • Ivy-Bridge excels in lightly threaded applications while the Sandy-BridgeE is a server type number cruncher.
  • The Sandy-BridgeE also features a more expansive memory controller with quad-channel support, although it is retro-compatible with earlier dual-channel and tri-channel memory coupling.

@Jakob, just because there is a budget for SB E, there is no point going for it as it will be hardly used in a home setting, as suggested by @ALPHA17. That money could be spent on something better, like a faster GPU.

Availability is a bug-bear Yaar!! Not in my hands. Lets see what OP says of the configuration and then pick on the trail from then.

That is there but OP himself has said he will play AoE on this, in that case even the HD 7770 will suffice for now, par Battlefield 3 jaise gems keep coming up --> I mean Metro: LAST LIGHT comes in 2013 [assuming THQ pulls through] and if OP fancies running that the HD 7770 will struggle to spit out even decent frame rates.

If the budget goes high with this configuration then go with ​

@OP invest half of that money in something other than a PC. Home Theater for your 40" or a Petrol Fund for the rest of the year. :) 80-90K for a "Home" Desktop when gaming isn't exactly your first priority is an absolute overkill.

But hey, it's your money in the end. Enjoy.
 
@rohit3887 - Do you want to Overclock your rig?

If NO, then why waste like 17-20k on motherboard. You can save some bucks and get better GPU and SSD of course :D
 
I suggest that you squeeze in an 90GB SSD in there. The performance difference between a normal mechanical drive and an SSD is tremendous.

Corsair carbide 400R - 5k
APC BR1.1KVA-UPS ~4600/
Zotac NVIDIA GTX 670 amp edition - 31k = this is 1 hell of a gpu you have to buy this only you want to play all the great games like BF3 IN full hd glory with all the eye candy :yahoo:
Seagate barracuda 7200.12 1 tb - 5.5k
any dvd drive - .9k
total - 79.9k:)

guys only 1 query left on my side Nvidia Gtx 670 will fit properly in corsair carbide 400R ;)?

Point is, the GTX 670 will not release before say mid-June in India and if OP cannot wait that long; the only graphics card that will fulfil his needs is the AMD HD 7870 2GB. Also, the latter over-clocks beautifully reaching the performance of its elder cousins the HD 7950 2GB easily.

Also OP said he will be playing AoE and CS:S mostly so no point asking him to go all out for the nVidia GTX 670.

And yes the Corsair Carbide 400R can easily accommodate cards that are upto ~12.5" tall. In comparison the nVidia reference PCB size for the GTX 670 ~9.5"; the tallest cards sporting elaborate cooling solutions will fall under the capabilities of the 400R still.
