@onlyravi
Mate that is a fantastic helmet and good choice on the ls2.
It seems you got the authentic clear glass and not the showpiece that most dealers put instead of the authentic.

Congrats!

thanks. got it directly from the importer....there were a couple others but none agreed to give a proper bill. so got from this guy finally...
when some dealer is reluctant to give a proper invoice there is always a possibility of something being fishy....
TBH today was the first time I every heard of the LS2 brand. Went to get the STUDD Ninja modular helmet. But comparatively the build quality of LS2 was far superior. Also the friend who came with me has very good knowledge about riding gears so trusted him :)

Absolutely irrelevant to this model. The prices start from around 3 k i believe and go as far as 12k for their bluetooth featured helmet.

I own a LS2 phobia. I dont really remember the cost now so cant comment but it depends on different models.

Got some stuff last weekend. :p

A small micro-B USB cable for data transfer from phone. Cost me 100 Rs off eBay. Length is about 10 cm.

A vacuum cleaner - Eureka Forbes Trendy Nano. Cost me 2.7k off Snapdeal. This was my third deal with Snapdeal and it went butter smooth!

Some views after using the unit extensively yesterday:

1. The unit is tiny (and cute! Looks like a small rodent) and portable - can be carried on one hand while holding the suction tube with the other. In fact, this is the way cleaning has to be done while reaching for ceilings and other hard-to-reach areas because the length of the flexible hose along with the extension tubes is a notch shorter and thus the unit cannot be kept on the floor.

2. The motor gets very HOT during operation and expels a lot of hot air through the exhaust vents. I had to tie a towel around the left hand to avoid the skin getting burnt while carrying the unit. At one point I thought the motor winding might just go conked due to the amount of heat the unit was venting off!

3. The unit doesn’t come with many attachments - just a carpet cleaning attachment (with a provision to select the bristles underneath the attachment) and a regular suction attachment (with a pivoting bristles attachment). For basic household cleaning, these two are more than sufficient.

4. This unit does not come with a blower connection facility. The mid-high end ones come with a slot to connect the flexible tube so the vacuum cleaner acts as a blower.

5. The dust bag is very small and may have to be cleaned from time to time to avoid the bag getting filled up quickly. Cleaning the bag is a breeze. Open the unit, remove the bag, remove a plastic holder at the bottom and empty the contents to the waste bin, replace the bag. The bag is made of a cloth-like material (presumably Nylon) and is washable.

6. ABS plastic quality overall is acceptable. But the carpet cleaner attachment had a notably flimsy plastic material used in comparison. It will definitely last though.

7. The power cord retracts at the push of a button and they have neatly integrated the button underneath the handle. Gently press the handle and it will retract the cord. The cord has a good length (5m I am guessing) and there are two tapes stuck on the cord to indicate how longer it can go - Yellow at the centre of the cord and Red at the end of it. Should've clicked some snaps of it.

8. The power button is huge and sturdy. I think like most vacuum cleaners, the power button is designed to be mashed by the foot while the unit is on the floor. :p

Satisfied with the performance of the unit. One of the better investments I’ve made recently. Spent the first half of the Sunday yesterday getting rid of the cobwebs accumulated on the ceilings and cleaning the carpet.

Isnt 4.5K for LS2 over the top?

I got mine for 2.6K 8 months ago.
Depends from model to model. This one has a double visor. The padding quality is the best I saw. There were others which looked similar but were priced even higher.... a Carbon Fibre one for 11k. It was way out of my budget. But was almost one fourth in weight than my helmet. I did a quick search online and found the rates to be almost same everywhere. +- few hundreds.
Also like I said if I had let go the original invoice thing than I could have saved few more 100s.
There were similar looking ones without a double visor and a button for visor for less like about 2.6k to 3.5k but I wanted one with double visor.

@Gannu I have placed too many rugs and carpets in my house. I am also in a need of a vacuum cleaner now. Its a pain to pick all those rugs everyday while cleaning....
Let us know your view after using it for few weeks.

@onlyravi You should have seriously had a look at SOL ones. They are one brilliant helmets in that price range. For 5K you can really get a good one.

Anyways, LS2 is a very good helmet. How is the performance at high speeds?

BTW Which is your LS2 model no?

Well like I said I had never heard of these brands before... not even LS2 till I entered the shop :)
I never considered these things too much as I am not a frequent long distance rider anymore.... luckily I got a real good helmet thanks to my friend who came with me...
And I had gone with a budget of 3k tops... but the make of this helmet shouts loud that its all about quality safety and comfort.
Just used it for some 30kms till now. The padding is little tight as its new. But it feels like a cocoon around your head. Its lovely. You instantly feel safe with the quality of this helmet.
Maybe its just my feeling but I felt even more confident and comfortable driving my bike today after wearing this helmet. If I add a alpine jacket and other riding gear I think I can start doing stunts :p
(pss... jacket next on my list)..

At high speeds(80~90kmph) you can hear the wind sound like you do on hills.... I am yet to try wearing a earphone inside this one... seems little hard for first few weeks till the padding loosens a bit.
It also comes with 2 extra cushion pads for the top side if you head is small and you need more padding on the top to close the gap.

There was a helmet from LS2 which had a pump inside it. After you wear it you can press the button to pump air in the pads so they are tight to the right size. To release air press another button :D But that was for 9K ... not a feature I would fancy...

Video explains the helmet features very nicely...

Mate a few pointers.

1. When you get a jacket dont drive faster than speeds that you are comfortable with. The riding fear is to protect you but that does not mean that wont get hurt. The common misconception is after you get a jacket that you can drive faster that what you do today. Access your comfortable speeds and drive in that range.

2. Please dont wear earphone while riding. It is illegal and unsafe. You should not listen to music while driving. you will not be able to hear the horns and noise of other vehicles. Entertainment is not greater than your safety.

I have LS2 phobia BTW.

Woah nice! *respect*

I screwed up and lost a brushed finish Zippo when the airport authorities asked me throw it in the trash when they found one in the cabin baggage. It was worth 2k. :(

Well...errm..I have around 7-8. Been collecting them since 1996...!

But now (thank God); I do not smoke. So they sit there. During "those days"; I used to have the fuel, the flints, wicks, and even the inside cotton -all- official Zippo made, for the maintenance of these wonderful lighters. All of my Zippos have some small history behind them. Like one was given to me by a bartender. An European customer left it behind at the bar, and never came back. Another was bought for 50 bucks from a tinker salesman, another from a shippie friend, some from people visiting over seas. The Yin-Yang one was from a client when I worked with GE. She was from Bradford, PA, where they are manufactured. Was talking generally to her about Zippos, and wolla...come next X-Mas, there was a FedEx parcel waiting for me. I told her, I like the Yin-Yang. She tells me couple of days later "remember that Zippo we spoke about; it is sitting on my desk...!" LOL.

These things have a lifetime guarantee, and Zippo fixes them free-of cost. Only the striker is non-user replaceable, so the flint should be changed when it diminishes.

:)
