English TV series discussion

This season was excellent. A lot of creative episodes came out of it. Garth's episode was quite a shocker. It was good to see Lassie from Psych being cast as Cain on this show. He's a splendid actor.
Yeah I also saw that Lassie from Psych was cast as Cain. Aamir khan duplicate
Yeah Lassie is an excellent actor. Good to see him in a serious role.
I watched the season finale finally. And it was WTH WTH WTH.
Quite a twist and an excellent one. Didn't expect at all.
I am confused now. They have Megatron now in jail, so he shouldn't be much of a threat, since the angel tablet was broken by Castiel.
Dean becomes a Demon. He himself has become what he hunted. Not sure what would happen in the next season. Would Dean be the next villain or not. I feel Dean would die next season, though I really don't want that to happen. He deserves better.

Finished Mentalist S06. Not sure people here are still following it. They had stopped season in middle (for holidays may be?) and it resumed in March. The first half of S06 weren't that good, however I like the second half ones. They are lot better now. Overall this season wasn't bad at all. Red John hasn't made any appearance yet and I am still waiting.

Finished Bansee S02. I did not like S01 that much, however S02 is lot better. Only one episode is super boring, rest all are good and kicking.

OINTB S02. I did not like S01 I found it to be over hyped. However S02 is really good and lives upto it. More darker, much better. I really liked cancer lady Miss Rosa's episode. Though there are 1-2 boring episodes or rather filled with boring scenes and some weak plot

Damn. I finished POI season 3 episode 20. 3 More episodes to go. But damn this show is worth all the hype. I think its appeal is even more to us geeks as we are constantly fascinated by how the tech is being used/controlled.

Started Arrow's second season last night and already half-way through it. There are so many story arcs and shocking twists, it's hard to keep a tab of of everything. A lot of DC characters making their appearances this time round. Will finish it up today and judging from people's reactions across the boards, the finale is supposed to be a shocker.

Finished "Orange is the New Black" second season yesterday and this show just keeps getting better. As already mentioned a couple of times in this thread, this season is much darker than the previous one. The characters come out much better and the storyline keeps you interested till the very end. The character of Yvonne Parker stood out for me though I was hoping to see more of Miss Claudette.

OT: I happened to read the book a few weeks ago and the differences between that and the series are huge. Both in terms of storyline as well as character. Biggest shocker for me was that Piper's lesbian lover character (named Alex Vause in the series) is but a footnote in the book!

I have always liked your suggestions. Except Harper's Island. Looking plot of Arrow, seems it has similarity with story of Batman. So someone who likes Crime/Drama/Thrillers, is Arrow recommended?

It's recommended for people who like to follow comic book related super-hero shows/movies. For me, Batman is the only DC comic character (besides Rorschach) who is extremely intriguing. Then again, he was the most popular one, so I didn't get a lot of background on the any of the remaining characters. Green Lantern (the movie) was a disappointment. When Arrow was aired, it got a lot of mixed reviews. Nevertheless, I started watching it and turned out to be quite good. In fact, it was much better than I expected, for a network show. The thing I like most about this show is it's stunt choreography and the engrossing story line. What I hate is Thea Queen and Laurel Lance's drama aspect. But since it's The CW, some amount of cringe-worthy drama is a given. It does a great job of introducing the character of 'Green Arrow/Oliver Queen' from scratch and even manages to dig deeper on his back-story on the Island through flashbacks. That's the crux of every super-hero based show or movie; to have the audience relate to it's character(s).

It's not your crime/drama/thriller in the sense that you would associate with 'The Mentalist' or 'The Killing'. Those are pure drama/thriller. This is more action oriented and has a diverse set of characters which are spread out through various DC comic books. I picked it up as I had very less knowledge about the Green Arrow. This show managed to deliver a good amount content to keep me engaged and entertained. So yeah, if you're into that, then go for it.

Looks like I might pick this up as well.

What I really liked about S02 was Manu Benett's potrayal of Deathstroke. IMO perfect fit for the character.
Though I wouldn't say finale was a shocker as such, just a fine ending for S02 and start of a new arc. CW is also doing a spinoff in form of Flash.

I saw the trailer and it looks quite mediocre to be honest. I'm not sure what made them create this spin-off. They should have expanded his role in Arrow itself, albeit in smaller doses.
Well look at the teaser for Arrow S01, it was near mediocre too. What really saved Arrow (specially in S02) was how they got DC characters to come in and expand the story.

Starting 'House of Cards'. watched till S01E02 and I am impressed. :)
Done with Arrow S02 - didn't liked it at all. One of most boring series I have ever watched. :(
