If you watch the review video (first one not camera review) posted above, go to 2:32, its the white balance setting. When you point the camera at something, hit measure, what does it reply with ?

Also can you mention anything about heating when doing gaming or 3g browsing. Is it similar to other models you had, above or less. mention the models you compared with.

The downside i see with FK's offering is its just 16GB, for a phone with no expandable storage they should also offer larger versions, 32GB or 64GB. Xiaomi does this but its not offered in India. Given the way things are in India, if they don't offer it at launch then you never get to see it :(

Optimus G came with 32Gb, video takes up lots of space if you want to record.

Hahahaha. Flipkart is rewarding my shopoholic nature. First they gave me Flipkart First service for free for 3 months and now i got a mail from them stating that as a Flipkart First service owner you are guaranteed to get a MI3 should you order it.

Yeah saw that option is not there now due to the recent upgrade to 4.4.3 and the video was taken when 4.3 was running...check screenshot

Heating while browsing is very mild hardly noticeable even after browsing for an hour the heat was very negligible not as much as my G2 .. Gaming ya if some intensive games it does heat but after some 10-15mins only , but its bearable, tbh.

If not and you are really desperate to get this phone and worried it will be sold out, then you can spend 500 rs extra to get flipkart first

Ah ok, i figured it would come back with a temperature setting you could then input into manual. That in itself means your wb will always be good.

Do you do much photography with this phone ? when i see people omplain camera is not good i get the impression they are referring to how things come out in auto. But what happens when you start playing around with manual.

That's is what a dslr can do, but for some reason no phone offers it even though that is what it calculates every time a photo is taken.

Not much photography only minimal usage, it seemed fine to me. But c'mon this is not a camera phone as such for 14k don't know what else people expect. Ya maybe for photoholics, camera may not be upto their level but its very good snapper. Tried few snaps and seems good for me.. One thing for sure it wont disappoint.
Somehow the Measure feature is disappeared after upgrade to 4.4.3, so don't know exactly whats the problem.
 
That's the thing i'm not sure of the photography competence of the people complaining about photo for this phone.

Those who do photos will still be impressed with features offered.
 
Yes, absolutely. For a budget, a phone with so many features is actually a One-off , you cant get a better deal than this.
 
Since you mention price, they are offering a s800 for 15k. How much are others charging for s800 ? close to twice that amount. The camera is a 13MP, midranges usually come with 8MP but latest crop is upping that.

it comes for 15k because you cannot buy it in shops so there are no commissions, just one sale point. Otherwise price would be 5k more. So there is a gap of 5-10k here. Xiaomi is also doing some subsidising here like amazon does for kindle.

What is missing ?

How mature is the firmware. Not quite there from what i can see, a few months down the line maybe.

Can you tell us what all problems you have exeperienced with this device.

TBH, nil. I like the UI as I have used it earlier and its smoothness, few of office mates loved the Touch and feel of the UI and got registered the day itself...
haven't encountered a FC (force Close) or any kind of Hang/Lag even in multitasking..
It was a Impulse buy, but something am not regretting for sure. Really in love with it.
Only thing missing was Play store, so I had to install "Google Installer" from the Xiaomi Store, then thru "Google Installer" download all the Google Apps including Play Store.

MIUI Dev committee is pretty strong, main thing is you get weekly Stable Updates. So any major bug gets fixed in a weeks time.
 
I was really interested in the Mi 3 for a moment but 16GB is too less, so will be getting a OPO 64GB in a week and a half instead.

Ash did a review for this unit months back, he put up a Q&A now for the india launch.



money making idea for those inclined, get lucky to recieve this very oversubscribed unit, sell it on ebay for a profit ;)
