Don Bradman Cricket - Discussion Thread

Yep this game is indeed a good game. You can say its almost close to cricket sim.
You have to get hold of the controls first otherwise it gets difficult. There are so many options.
I think online will be fun.

Drawbacks
1. The game could have looked a bit better
2. Some animations are just stiff. Like if you hit a ball straight to the baller & if he fails to catch it the animation is not satisfactory.
3. Lack of detailed tutorial.

The game will be well justified if its priced around 1.5k max for pc. Its a good game no wonder but 3k is too much.

This game requires a lot of skills. I think its tougher than EA sports. Those idiots always tries to lbw in non aggressive shots.

There is a steep learning curve to it and no obvious indicators like field radar, bowling pitch markers or shot direction radar. If you wanna know where are the fielders, you look around through batsman's eye.

For bowling, you choose when to jump in the run up and when to release the ball. For batting, you choose the footwork and then the shot direction. If you get footwork wrong, you may end up missing the ball or edging it. Quite interesting so far and online is fun too.

Yes like i said before its like a cricket sim. Your judgement should be quick. You have it for which platform? The price for pc version is abysmal.

I cant believe IGN & some guys overe here http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-3/don-bradman-cricket-14 have given it such a low score. I agree to what they say but it shouldn't be below 7.5 .http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/04/07/don-bradman-cricket-14-review

^ I had pre-ordered it on steam with 10% discount. I agree, compared to PC game prices it's pretty high.

I believe the average review scores were due to few bugs present in the console versions which released few months ago.

PC version and patch 2 for consoles supposedly fixes many major issues.

This game is still full of damn bugs.
None of your challenged decision will yield positive result. Then whats the meaning of keeping it there? My batsman was declared out due to ball hitting the edge of the bat. Then I challenged the decision even in the replay it showed clearly that the ball didn't hit the bat but still he was declared out. WTF?

I just noticed that the price is about $26 in RU/CIS region and it doesn't seem to be region locked. If you know any Russian traders you might be able to get it for cheap.

Anyone knows how to mod the game into using real/actual cricketers? *ahem* version.

If by using real/actual cricketers you mean their names then this https://www.dropbox.com/s/dmf1e8z7d4k9zs7/Don Bradman Cricket 14.rar should help. Place the extracted .sav file in the My Documents appropriate game directory. Disclaimer: Not mine, so please exercise due diligence.

Btw, anyone know how to hit a straight drive along the carpet? I always hit it back to the bowler at a catchable height. Is the timing off or is it a bug? Or is it a controller issue? I'm using a cheapo Enter gamepad. Thanks.

Works fine. Thank you, man!

For anyone interested. The game is now out on the next-gen consoles. Costs Rs. 3999/- for the digital versions.

For people who have it on the PC, don't bother. It's pretty much the same game. For people who bought it for last-gen consoles, it features multiple improvements. May not be worth the full price but see if you can get a better deal later. It has the latest patches which never made it to the PS3 and X360.

Its an excellent cricket game till date
I would prefer PC game bcoz of HD graphics, customization, excellent community support & Steam online gaming
