0-20k Upgrade old rig OR New Desktop?-Please advice.

Hello Friends, I am lazy father who wish to convert old home PC into gaming/media PC to satisfy curiosity of his teenage son since last 6 months ( I'm really shameful). He is playing game like Transformer-4, Dragon-2, Spiderman based on movie time to time.

Well, yesterday my old rig (mentioned below) dead (CPU not responded) & technician says Motherboard failed & need to replace.

Since having this incident, may I have expert opinion whether I should sell whole crush & go for new Desktop or old rig can be effectively modified as requesting below: Budget-30 to 35k (for new desktop) 15k (for up gradation)

old PC configuration:-

•Processor = Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 (2.2 GHz) Box Proc. No idea whether to replace or keep as it is if going for gaming up gradation?
•Motherboard = Intel D945GCNL Original Mother Board ( Failed. Need to replace as technician says. But no idea what to do?!
•Chasis / SMPS = Micro ATX - Mini Tower Case, I ball, Pride model - Wish to keep as it is
•System Memory= 1 GB DDR2- Need to improve at least 4GB to run graphic card
•RAM-TranscandHard Drive= 250 GB SATA Wish to keep as it is
•Hard Drive - Seagate Optical Drive= 20x SATA •DVD Writer - LG - Wish to keep as it is
•Graphics= Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950- Need to replace to satisfy son's gaming curiosity
•Output= 19" Wide Screen LCD - Viewsonic- wish to keep as it is
•Audio =Creative 5.1 Ch. SBS 560/580 wish to keep as it is
* wired keyboard & mouse Need to replace by wireless keyboard and mouse
 
You're going to have to dump the old system. It is too old to upgrade. For a 30-35k budget you can get a decent system since you don't have to shell out for a monitor,

I would suggest something like this,

I would suggest keep a wired mouse and keyboard as they will be better for gaming.

For purchasing NEW (company sealed-not assemble one) desktop - 30k
For upgrading old rig (my current home pc) - 15k

Well said that, I am trying to cut cost by other option below in RED INK to get your expert opinion. you may pl re-configure also considering 15k budget. Regretful on miscommunication.

G3220 should be ok. FX4300 not worth it.

Not good. The cheapest decent boards for the FX 6300 would be the Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 or the Asus M5A78L-M/USB3. Below that you might face power issues with the VRM.

Any idea on the model number? How old is it? Did you verify that its in good condition i.e. no bad sectors etc?

If it's in good condition, well ventilated and roomy, then sure. Graphics card + AMD FX will throw out quite a bit of heat.

Almost final. Just yesterday came to know, my old rig having Brand-4d, Model-ATX-450W. Image attached.
Just reputing if I can reuse old PSU & can save Rs.2500/-

Keep the speakers, hdd, monitor, keyboard & mouse . Dump the rest. You will build yourself a good gaming rig at 35K in today's market.
15K Mobo / Proccy + 10K GPU + 7K PSU & Case + 3K RAM
 
Dude go for the suggestions above. If you make some adjustments here and there now again it will be a pain for you in a year or two. So better get the major components upgraded and almost up-to-date to latest technology: proccy/mobo/ram/psu/gpu/cabby. You wont regret and esp. not your son who will be gaming.

The G3220+H81 combo is newer and preferred, but it's also more expensive. The GTX 750 should be good (if you get it for 7k).

But I would not risk it on that PSU. As per the ratings, it appears to be a 250W PSU, that is if those ratings are correct. Even if by luck the PSU does not go up in flames, there is no guarantee that it will not affect the lifespan of your devices.
There's another problem - it won't have a 24-pin ATX connector, and the additional 4 pins are for powering the PCIe slot for your GPU. No power for the GPU = no boot.

No, its at par price to G2030-H61 combo.

Gigabyte H81M-S1 - Rs. 3300 (3311 on flipkart right now)

^^I would second on suggestion for getting a better PSU. It is a very important component in whole build. Buying better one is like insuring your other parts of PC.

An 24 pin ATX cable looks like this

PSUs these days have all their power concentrated on the 12V rail, because thats what most modern PCs use. A 450W PSU will have atleast 400W on the 12V rail.
The 12V rail in your '450W' PSU has only 22A ; 12V x 22A => 264W. Again this is just their rating on the sticker (no test conditions mentioned) which means it's usually exaggerated.

Pretty sure its 20 pin. Technicians might recommend connecting a 20 pin to 24 pin converter which is NOT recommended.
